Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'
Mar 25th 2007 6:32PM (Joystiq)1) Whether or not this is "standard practice" is totally irrelavant. I don't care if stores have been doing it since the dawn of time, it's something I don't like and won't purchase.
2) When a game has been removed from its box, there is no way of knowing what was done to it. Many posters have noted that their games were scratched, damaged, or even had saved games already! This is totally unacceptable. I want my "new" games to actually be new, I'm not taking the word of some sales drone that nothing was done to the game.
3) Game companies distribute display boxes and adverts for pre-releases, there's no reason they can't do the same for "new releases". End of story.
I haven't gone in a Gamestop for years because of their policies, prices, and how they treat their customers. It's obvious a lot of other people feel the same way...it's only a matter of time before the Targets and Best Buys run Gamestop out of town for good. And I say good riddance.
