Joyswag regift giveaway: PSP-3000 Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack

Jan 3rd 2009 12:55PM (Joystiq)
Besides the likely internal memory upgrade, I imagine the PSP-4000 would have another incremental screen upgrade, and maybe a built in camera. A more expensive premium version with internal-GPS would be nice as well, but probably unlikely.

Ben - β€œIn short - no - Bush hasn't called them unamerican, but I am. Anyone who publicly denounces the troops and does everything in their power to not supply them with what they need is unpatriotic and unamerican. β€œ

Really, the Democrats haven't supplied them? I seem to recall the Bush Administration not supplying armor for many American vehicles in Iraq, the Bush Administration forcing soldiers to pay for their own body armor, and the Bush administration extending the tours of duty of soldiers who already served their term in Iraq.

And I'd like to see you provide any evidence of Democratic politicians denouncing the troops...

Hands flailing wildly with Toshiba's SpursEngine laptop

Here's a better diagram showing the differences between a full-blown Cell CPU and the SpursEngine. Note, as I said in my previous post, that the SPEs in the SpursEngine are running at 1.5GHz, verses 3.2GHz in the PS3.

Hands flailing wildly with Toshiba's SpursEngine laptop

Actually, according to Wikipedia, the SpursEngine contains 4 SPEs (running at 1.5GHz, verses 3.2GHz in the PS3) and no on chip CPU (I.e. does not contain a PPE like the PS3)

So basically:

Cell in PS3 – 1 PPE and 7 SPEs running at 3.2 GHz
SpursEngine – 4 SPEs running at 1.5 GHz (plus some additional components to enable better communication between the 4 SPEs and the host computer)

HD DVD looks back on 2007

Jan 7th 2008 1:57PM (Engadget)
First of all, Sony was behind the CD and 3.5" floppy disk, and something tells me those weren't DRM infested.

Second of all, you seem to be making the common mistake of assuming Sony is the only company behind Blu-ray. Here's a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_corporations_supporting_Blu-ray

Third, while Sony certainly has pulled some crap, you're quite naive to think Toshiba and other HD-DVD backers are much better.

Fourth, HD-DVD and Blu-ray BOTH feature AACS DRM. It's true that Blu-ray also supports BD+ (which has been at least partially broken and is only on a few titles so far). So to call Blu-ray "DRM infested" is pretty biased, as both formats have DRM (Blu-ray just a bit moreso).
