Wand of Game-On, indeed.

Nice one.

Metareview - Tetris DS

Mar 22nd 2006 8:46AM (Joystiq)
I dig Tetris, and I'll probably buy it, but please, please, please, please, GamePro, hire some writers capable of rational thought and stop giving gaming journalism a bad name.

I don't doubt that this game is good - even 75% is a great score - but it could not possibly be perfect.

I wish they'd stop the hyperbole.

Metareview - Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence

I really think that, as good as this package probably is, those reviews are absolutely ridiculous.

"...we wish our review scale went to 11"?

Can the hyperbole, please. This is, in one sentence, exactly what is wrong with videogames journalism these days.

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup (March 5 - 11, 2006)

Mar 12th 2006 12:01AM (Joystiq)
No one's suggesting that webcomics shouldn't be given time to find their feet, SetupWeasel. The first couple of years of Penny Arcade were horrible, and VG Cats took a similar period of time to find it's feet. Your work has improved tenfold since you started, by the look of things.

This doesn't excuse the fact that Bob and George has been sucking for an inordinate ammount of time though.

IGN gets their hands on a Revolution dev kit

Kuroshi, I'd be fascinated to see your information on this subject. Nintendo's last financial report paints a very different picture to what you're saying.

Do you know something no one else in the world does?

IGN gets their hands on a Revolution dev kit

Voodoo M, it's a bit ridiculous to suggest that the conroller itself isn't pushing the boundries of hardware. I'd go so far as to say it pushes the very notions of what constitutes hardware.

There are plenty of good reasons Nintendo doesn't give up making hardware. The fact that the DS is the fastest selling console ever might be one of them. The fact that the Revolution will capture a market not targetted by Sony and Microsoft is another.

There's no reason why software has to be tied to hardware, but there's also no logical reason why Nintendo should give up making hardware. It makes money.

Didn't the Video iPod come out last year? If not, what the hell am I watching videos on?

Prepping for E3 2006

Yankovic? I wish.

I do own the 7" of Eat It, if that's any consolation.

I'm positive this is where we're going to see the next big surprise about the Revolution controller.

You know, I don't recall having been this excited about a console since I heard that Nintendo were making a successor to the NES...

Zelda: Twilight Princess details on March 16?

Mar 7th 2006 7:48AM (Joystiq)
Judging by the quality of the journalism in the Revolution article last month, I'm kinda glad they're just sticking to pictures this time round.
