Halo Waypoint hits iOS, Android and Windows Phone on Dec 10, ATLAS 'GPS' is $4.99
Dec 8th 2011 8:30PM (Joystiq)I think that's why it's only available in Custom games. Personally I think Atlas sounds bad ass. Having a second, quick glanceable screen for more info is awesome, and I'm even more jazzed about what can be done with stuff like this in the future.
GameStop lists Vita memory card prices (start saving up now) [update]
Nov 28th 2011 4:59PM (Joystiq)How does your brain function?
"about the same cost as desktop memory"
You made a statement ... then pointed out the completely invalidity of said statement in your next one...
"I know they are two seperate technologies but"
And then complained about hypothetical people making invalid statements...
"somebody is going to come in here crying about how they got a 1 TB hard drive for $80"

Sony beefing up legal team to battle pirates
Feb 25th 2011 12:13PM (Joystiq)I honestly find the downvoting on this article disturbing. Yes, I can fully respect and appreciate Sony going after black hat piraters who are releasing rom playing firmware. However first of all Sony is not just going after them and is also going after people like GeoHot who cracked it open and specifically did not release any piracy measures, they simply wanted otherOS.
And personally, part of me feels like Sony kind of deserves this. They have repeatedly been dicks to their customers, in all aspects of the company. The rootkits with music, the media center upgrades for pcs, and then removing otherOS support? Why would you do that. They should really take a book out of Microsoft's page and learn to work with the hacking community.
Give the community the tools they want for legitimate hacking purposes and they won't be forced to completely expose the system, and will greatly increase interest in your product.
Breaking: PS3 firmware 3.56 released
Jan 27th 2011 1:13AM (Joystiq)I fully am against copy right infringement however, and don't approve of running downloaded games.
Kinect hacks: One-handed FPS control
Jan 18th 2011 2:07PM (Joystiq)Picture an FPS played with a wii/move blaster type controller and kinect. You strafe with the thumbstick on the back, controller the crosshairs by pointing the gun around screen as seen above, look down the iron sights by raising the gun up to your eyes, and scope for sniper rifles by leaning your head over the controller as if you were actually looking down the scope.
That's what I want to see, it may not be as accurate as a mouse or even a controller but I guarantee you that if done right it would be a ton of fun.
Ask Engadget: best note-taking tablet / laptop for under $200?
Jul 16th 2010 8:12AM (Engadget)I thought about that, but have you taken a physics course? It's not an odd time. It's all the time.
Ask Engadget: best note-taking tablet / laptop for under $200?
Jul 15th 2010 11:23PM (Engadget)Just a guess here but he's probably a science/engineering student, in which case a keyboard does no good. You need to be able to draw diagrams and quickly write lamdas and omegas and such. In which case your fresh out of luck. Use a pen and paper, there's noone in my classes with computers because they're simply impractical.
Even a $1500 tablet won't really be what you want at the end of the day. As someone said before you really needed the courier.
Samsung Windows Phone 7 prototype hands-on
Jun 22nd 2010 9:41PM (Engadget)Um, you're not joining him, you're actually completely disagreeing with him (read: "I LOVE WP7")
Read the comment before replying with your BS trolling remarks, you haven't used WP7 and are basing your opinion about it's readability on some still shots? Take a still picture of your LCD TV and it'll look like shit, there's a reason they simulate the images in commercials.
iPhone 4 hits T-Mobile Germany in June, three Canadian carriers in July
Jun 7th 2010 11:01PM (Engadget)When the gadget is designed primarily to communicate and the speed and reliability of that communication is based upon the carrier, and it is only offered on one carrier, I think that counts as worthy to talk about.
I personally appreciate the carrier talk as it's a nice break from the editors making apple sauce all over the place.
