I always keep some sort of mobile gaming handy, DS, PSP or phone. As to where - everywhere... subway, doctor's office, lounge, bed... wherever I have the need for a gaming fix.
Being a gamer yourself allows you to relate to your kids when they play games. It also gives you another avenue for socialisation with them and provides a great insight into how they're feeling.
It also helps you see that letting your kids play computer games is not a babysitting alternative but is instead an immersive experience that you can share with them.
