May 3rd 2010 6:47PM (Joystiq)Besides, the directions are straight wrong, as they mention nothing about having to hold down on the left stick. They're WRONG. The instructions on how to PLAY THE GAME are incorrect.
Life's too short.
Review: Monster Hunter Tri
Apr 28th 2010 3:12PM (Joystiq)For one, none of us know anything about Monster Hunter. So there's that.
For second (for two?) there are only so many hours in the day, and as we expand our review coverage, we're going to need extra hands. My promise to you is that we'll only get the best people, and that we'll stand behind what they write 100 percent. What I'd submit is that this review had one of our names over it instead of Sean's, you would have never known a difference. That's my aim.

Review: Monster Hunter Tri
Apr 28th 2010 11:54AM (Joystiq)There's a lot of hostility here about Sean's review and I'm reading it and taking it to heart.
A few of you do raise decent points, namely, we could have done a better job explaining mechanics. You could argue that's not necessarily the purview of a review, but with a less known quantity like Monster Hunter, it probably would have been a good addition. We'll know next time.
That said, most of you are coming off as just xenophobic. Sean wrote a funny, interesting piece that not only conveyed his experience with Monster Hunter Tri but explained how it had evolved from previous iterations.
If you were hoping for more commentary on frame rate, I would submit that you are perhaps turning to the wrong site for your reviews.
Love you,
Justin
Review: Splinter Cell: Conviction
Apr 13th 2010 10:33AM (Joystiq)1. I was indifferent to the story. If I don't mention something, just assume indifference.
2. There's a whole paragraph about the co-op, but to re-iterate, it's great.
3. The graphics thing, man, I don't really get people asking about it. There are so many trailers and screens these days, what more do you want me to say? It looks like the many, many, many trailers and screenshots have looked. When in doubt about my feelings on a game's graphics, just refer to rule 1.
Hope that helps.

Apr 3rd 2010 1:56AM (Joystiq)Once we realized, Chris and I were both away from our computers, so we couldn't update the post. Sorry about the confusion.
That said, you know the direct download always works though, right?
