Apr 18th 2011 5:20PM (Joystiq)Yeah, I think Colors is their best so far on the Spikey games, but even so, I am not a fan of the non 2D platforming gameplay they have shown so far: I don't know if it is their focus on "speed", or what, but Mario fared superbly well in his transition to 3D. Hope they can figure something out.
If they screw up with the Spikey levels, I hope skipping them somehow is possible, but two separate campaigns would be very nice.
Of course, they will still have to aim right on the Sonic stages, as their last effort was dishearteningly appalling.

Jul 7th 2010 8:53PM (Joystiq)Yeah!
I fully agree, but as I've not played the Megaman ZX series, I wouldn't know which elements did they add, if any, to the Metroid map exploration and unlocking mechanic.
But if anything, we might come to some lulz with a 'mega castroid'.
La-Mulana on WiiWare trades equippable retrogames for apps
Jul 7th 2010 11:05AM (Joystiq)hahaha folks, that was a joke. ;]
I know 'castroid' is far underused, probably because it is similar to 'castrate', thus making it funny sounding.
But puerile jokes aside, the terms I actually use are 'Castlevania' and 'Metroid'. 'Castlevania' when there is a grinding rpg element in the game (level based character progression), 'Metroid' when character betterment is solely skill based.
And back to topic, La-Mulana is getting more awesome. Its menu's aesthetic always reminds me of the Great Cave Offensive item collection screen, on Kirby Super Star.
Keep up the good work Nigoro!
