Battlefield 3 dev hiring 'anti-cheat administrator' to stop the evildoers

Jan 30th 2012 3:25PM (Joystiq)
@dennisb407 first thing they could would be explain in their hack / glitch thread how to report the users rather than just claiming you cant name and shame players in the thread... how do they expect community help if they don't make it obvious how to do it....

Buckle up, this Dirt Showdown trailer may give you whiplash

@Apex Omega yehh it must really suck having such a large well established market to sell to. If they get this right they could make a killing, destruction derby was great 2 generations ago.

@Special Agent Steve
CPUs no matter how powerful render really lousy gfx....

that said the 360 /ps3 are ageing, they could easily have this half decent cpu and have stuck some top of the line pc ati gpu in there and it would instantly be competitive I would imagine, what was expensive 5 yrs ago wont cost nearly as much now.

XBLA in Brief: Sega Rally Online Arcade

@saturn118
you would be double screwed then if you chose to buy it and after grabbing a half sized demo still had to then download another gig? I do like the instant conversion to full, its quite nice. perhaps just change provider or up your package if you are maxing it out regularly.

EA Sports MMA signs Strikeforce league, additional fighters

Nov 8th 2009 6:35AM (Joystiq)
Fedor is good, I am not sure his style will convey well to a game as he is so relaxed but they should aim to pickup alot of the old pride fighters and not be be affriad to pickup some of the Japanese fighters such as Takanori Gomi , Kazushi Sakuraba Hidehiko Yoshida ( I have no idea if they have signed elsewhere or retired) , perhaps they should even have a legend section with the old favourites who dont posess a full set of mma skills so players can fight with the real risk a take down, or staying stanging will mean certain loss.

PS3 crashes into Bravia TV at 50 MPH for fun and profit (video)

The dreamcast was an awsome bit of kit, it was not too far behind the ps2, infact I think it was the first console to render polygons they way we see now (no idea of the technical part) but the games where all "arcade" in type or conversion so it never really went super mainstream, I know loads of people who had one and hated it due to the fact the games where "rubbish" which was because alot of the western developed titles where, and the Japanease titles that came over here (however western in gameplay) didnt get the same press and people missed them, These friends who played my games loved it and quickly realised there was fun to be had, but for the console it was way too late. I think people who discovered it really loved it and others just saw it pass by without too much of a fuss which is the reason it failed I suppose.

'Big Dawg' vs. Madden lawsuit dismissed

Oct 16th 2009 6:57PM (Joystiq)
I dont know about US law and the like but I think this boils down to "Personally Identifiable Information" (information that can be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single person) as in it does not matter who owns what, that visual identity is widly regarded as him and as such its been stolen without his permission. Roles revesed and this dude was selling something that looked like a madden game and ea would have shafted him with a blunt instrument and spared the lube.

That said I think EA rolled and payed up for him to shut up and a good result for all involved.

you have not seen how thin it is or how sweet the screen is, for an android handset this will set new levels off cool, and in general stands up to htc with their slick handsets.

New Archos 5 with Android unboxed, meets its chubby predecessor

I dont understand the appeal of a "dock", you take an expensive device with reasonable audio quality, fill it with compressed audio and plug it into a dirt cheap speaker, its like sticking remould tyres on your Corvette. If you spend serious cash on a dock then thats even worse, like polishing a turd ;)

back on track looks like a nice device, but not sure it really needs android but if it does the job and is free why they heck not.
