Five brand new Wii games at LGC [Update 1]

Aug 1st 2006 5:24PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
In an interview with IGN, Miyamoto said he was working on a projest that uses one Wiimote and is passed amongst players. Hopefully we'll be able to see that game in action there. It sounds very interesting.

October 2nd to be the release date?

There are 290 words in the article, and he 290th day of this year is Oct. 17. The only problem is that this would be a Tuesady, which doesn't really follow the pattern of any Nintendo system or game launch. But hey, you never know. ;)

Some games we want to see on the Wii

Jul 27th 2006 5:48PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I can see a whole line of exploration games lined up for the Wii. Go through environments like jungles, forests, swamps, mountains, caves, and even tundra and the ocean. It could be all in first person, and requires two Wiimotes as your hands. Grab on to things, swim, climb trees and mountains, swing from vines, qnd interact with wildlife. You could also get tools like a pickax, machete or fishing poles depending on the envroinment. You could even take photos or record your explorations. It would appeal to all ages, and would also be a great way to reach a broader audience and get non-gamers into games.

Aren't these the same people that tricked us with the Luigi Code? Just how far can we trust them after that? I say take it all with a very big grain of salt.

Could Mario do for the Wii what he did for the DS?

Is it just me, or is the Wii going to be the first Nintendo console ever without a Mario title at launch?

Confirmed: Crash Bandicoot coming to Wii

Jul 20th 2006 5:31PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
This article had me extremely excited up until the words "party-style game". My favorite game on the PS1 was, and still is, Crash Bandicoot 3. It seems that all the recent Crash games have had either this party-style theme to them or been pathetic attempts at racing games. What happened to the good old platforming? The Wii would have been perfect for such a Bandicoot title, as I can imagine the possibilites of having Mario Galaxy-esque controls to it. Will Vivendi ever wise up to the Wii?
