Bionic Commando, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite 'underperform' in the west

Jul 31st 2009 12:47PM (Joystiq)
Have any of you even played Bionic Commando (not the demo)? That game was great, I beat it 3 times. You can tell the developer was a big fan of the original Bionic Commando because it really feels like a 3D version of the original. Playing it on Commando difficulty was extremely hard but fun.

Rock Band Weekly: The Cars' self-titled debut album

May 26th 2008 11:56AM (Joystiq)
Wow this album has a lot of hits on it, I think I'm going to get it.....plus finally I know what song is the one that is played during the Phoebe Cates scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High (moving in stereo).

Devil May Cry 4 for PS3 gets achievements, required installation [update]

Jan 7th 2008 4:24PM (Joystiq)
To me this doesn't look like an added feature saying "now you won't have load times". It looks like they started development on the 360 and ported it to the PS3 and the drastic difference in drive speeds made the load times on the PS3 version too long...everybody knows that the speed of the Blu Ray drive in a PS3 is a 2X speed Blu Ray, while the 360 has an 8X DVD drive.

Best of the Rest: Ludwig's picks of 2007

Jan 2nd 2008 11:42AM (Joystiq)
I agree with everyones choices but I've read all of the "best of the rest" and not one person mentioned Lost Planet...did people forget it because it came out in January? After playing all the big games of the year I would still place that in my top 5, I played the crap out of the multiplayer and loved the single player (although the story was terrible).

Joystiq's Top 10 of 2007: Portal

Jan 2nd 2008 11:37AM (Joystiq)
Technically Portal isn't a game, The Orange Box should be number one then. Here's my top 10 for the year:

10.Contra 4
9. Assasins Creed
8. Ratchet and Clank: Future
7. Halo 3
6. Rock Band
5. The Orange Box
4. Lost Planet
3. Call of Duty 4
2. Mass Effect
1. Bioshock

Best of the Rest: Griffin's Picks of 2007

Jan 2nd 2008 10:40AM (Joystiq)
Mass Effect is on my top 5 list this year, yea the story was awesome but the reason it ranks high for me is the....gameplay. The only reason I completed 2 full playthroughs, all sidequests, is because I love the battle gameplay a lot. I played it the correct way, stopping every few seconds to select commands for your teamates and yourself...this is an RPG not a FPS.

I don't think I could go one-on-one with a Chopper...nobody could.
