Oh, Canada Wii's home and native land

Aug 27th 2008 3:16AM (Joystiq)
The Wii is popular here because all that arm swinging and Wii Fit hula-hooping keeps us warm.

IOGEAR's USB Laptop KVM Switch provides your portable with impressive new powers

Aug 25th 2008 1:07PM (Engadget)
What you're all missing is the targeted use for this: headless servers. This has been a long standing issue for traveling techs, impromptu connections where you can't install client software, and quick-n-dirty control of machines with only a power connector. A Google search will show how badly this has been needed.

Deca Sports reaches 700,000 units shipped

Aug 14th 2008 8:08PM (Joystiq)
I waited months for this game to come out, then bought it last week. TOTAL POS. This will be the last sports game for the Wii I ever buy (except for Wii Sports 2).

Example of bad design:
Figure skating seems pleasant enough and there's the usual skating music track playing. But for some idiotic reason, there's a loud DING every time you hit a mark. Considering there's already a visual clue (it pops), it's completely useless and ruins the play with an incessant dinging throughout the whole set, drowning out the music AND making me insane. There's a ton of other similiar things like this but my rant is over. Don't buy it.

Celio REDFLY drops to $400, still not useful

Aug 14th 2008 12:03AM (Engadget)
While the rest of you are buying up netbooks, the RedFly just gets cheaper. This time next year when cell phones have even more processing power, the RedFly is still useful, unlike your dead-dog-slow netbook from yesterday.

Lotus Concept Ice Vehicle promises to aid arctic expeditions, Thunderbirds missions

Aug 13th 2008 11:50PM (Engadget)
Not just the canopy, how about seating for two or more? Why would you want to tear off into the arctic by yourself?

Yahoo! Music Store taking DRM servers offline, freezing out customers

It's also easier to make a living dealing drugs than to get a job. That doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.

Flagship Studios confirms layoffs, extent unknown

Jul 13th 2008 3:12PM (Joystiq)
Ok, bad analogy, but my point is valid. It takes a lot more than good code to make a popular game. There were a lot of people involved in the decision making process at Blizzard, and you can see it in their track-record of good games.

Flagship Studios confirms layoffs, extent unknown

Jul 12th 2008 12:50AM (Joystiq)
Just because they worked on Diablo doesn't mean they collectively know anything about game production. Would you hire the guy working on the Honda assembly line to build you a car?

Ion reveals $299.99 price for premium Rock Band drums

Jul 12th 2008 12:48AM (Joystiq)
I have weekly rock band parties with 6-10 people over. Tell me $300 isn't worth it.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11: 1.5TB of love

Jul 10th 2008 8:17PM (Engadget)
You sound just like the guy who said he wouldn't trust all his data to an 80gb drive. Times change, man-- change with them.
