Awful article. Honestly I was expecting to find some kind of disclaimer or something saying that you don't condone this behaviour. Unfortunately it seems like this is the real you. I expect this kind of crap from trolls on a forum, but to have a guide to it, and from a respected Wow blog. I'm honestly quite ashamed to call myself a loyal reader.
"Once I've got several enemy players stuck inside of the sanctuary out of fear, I'll just start Sapping them every time they step outside for even a moment." - Re-read that. That's just plain assholery. There's no excuse, you're not even gaining honour from it. You're doing it simply to waste the time of other players.
Many players are doing these quests in a rush because they have real lives, raids, work etc to balance and jerks like you are disrupting this with this griefing bullshit. No this is not world PvP. PvP by definition implies that it's one player against another, not one player ganking an unsuspecting victim.
I hope someone organises a raid to corpse camp you when you're doing your dailies. May you never be able to finish a quest again and I pray that Wow Insider fires your ass.
I take it European members don't get the chance to get these rewards then? I've registered a couple of games on the EU site but there's no mention of tiers or points or anything.
I'll be honest. There is no way I'm using one of these in the current state. My internet connection is absolutely horrible. I disconnect every 20 minutes or so at least. And I have no intention of typing in a load of extra crap every time I want to log back in.
What they need to do is make it so that when you enter the authentication key your account is "authenticated" for a couple of hours. Then when you dc you dont have to re-enter your authentication key.
At the end of the day I would probably say most people that buy gold do so to fund their purchases of the more expensive in game items like WoW's epic flying mount.
If a company is really against RMT all they would need to do is substitute currency for some kind of token system to fund those big purchases. Instead of grinding 5000 gold you would grind 5000 "tokens" which drop from bosses in dungeons etc. I'm sure they could think up a better version.
The fact is the best part of legitimate RMT is that the spamming of gold sellers will surely be cut dramatically.
The worst part is that you wont know if someone bought the gold to attain epic item x or if they actually put in the hard work. If a company could find some way of showing if you've bought money then I would support this kind of a system.
Imho it's just a little bit too slow. But then they also release other content patches that include the likes of Sunwell etc. Outside of raiding there is mostly nothing to do for raiders now. I'm sick of heroics and dailies and I'm not really a PvPer.
Any word on the insription only glyphs? I'm trying to decide whether it's worth picking up inscription on my main character or just leaving it to an alt.
