DS Daily: That's just low

Jun 29th 2008 3:59PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't take review scores seriously, and I take what they say in the reviews with a grain of salt as well. It seems to me that a lot of critics are rushing to get their review online, how much time do they spend playing the game?

I rely more on what other gamers say, and I also watch gameplay videos online if I'm on the fence.

Amazon casts a Magical Starsale

Yes, this game is definitely worth $8.99. The combat can get a little boring (repetitive) but the story keeps things moving so I had fun playing it and will most likely eventually play it again.

Lost Magic, someone warned me about the controls in combat being impossible and I thought, "Eh, it won't be a problem for ME!" but I was dead wrong. :\ Sold it back to the store.

Train for next week's release with FFTA2 screens

Jun 20th 2008 5:14PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I've set aside a few games to trade in so the price won't hurt too much. I usually don't mind waiting for a sale or buying a game used, but this is one game I want to have ASAP. I'm counting down the days to the 25th...

More FFIV media than you can summon a stick at

I really enjoyed FF III DS too. It was the first FF game I ever played and I had a great time with it. I liked it so much I immediately bought the GBA version of FF IV and played that and realized why people dissed FF III. FF IV is a better game with a better story, imo. OK, fast-forward a year. Last month I was out of new games to play and waiting on FFTA2 so I decided to pick up FF III and play it again, until I got bored. Only I never got bored and finished it a second time.

I'll probably recommend FF IV DS over III, but I can't knock a game that gave me around 100 hours of entertainment. FF III is a fun game and it's definitely worth the $19.99 price (used I think) I saw at Gamecrazy the other day.

I put $5 down on a pre-order yesterday, first time I ever bothered to preorder a game. Can't wait for the 25th. :)

Oxygen busts out three young girl games

I agree. :\ When I was a little girl I played the same games as my brothers: Mario Bros, Pacman, Donkey Kong, Zelda, Castle Wolfenstein, Miner 49er, etc. I never thought "Gee, I wish I could put make-up on a pony." sigh.

Snippets of FFTA2 gameplay show some tactics

I love Fire Emblem (played the two GBA games) and FFTA is my all-time favorite handheld game. There's no guarantee you will like FFTA2, but I think there's a good chance you will.
