#217. Please check your brain before posting - you have no idea what kind of setup this person has. They could be stuck on analog cable for all you know. Zelda on a 50" HD Screen even over composite would look way better than analog cable. It's more likely you're just a snob.
The Wii number sounds seriously wrong. I'd expect Sony numbers to be low due to the components being used, but I'd be shocked if Nintendo had the same problem.
Will/can either make a meaningful contribution to making games themselves better?
It's clear that is Nintendo's intention as far as the remote goes.
As for Microsoft, opinions tend to vary on Live. Personally, I would prefer not to pay extra for such a thing, but I don't put it in the "scam" or "screwjob" category either...
I (for one) like the fact that Nintendo only makes games. I like video games. I don't want Sony's trojan horse Blue-Ray player or Microsoft's Media Player Extender. When those technologies mature, I'll take a look. Right now, they're not worth the money...
