Apr 14th 2011 3:45PM (Joystiq)They better show off some stupid impressive visuals and have a competent multiplayer service.
And Zelda. And Metroid. And Mario.
Otherwise, I don't think many people will care. Or is this supposed to be like that VG cats comic, where Nintendo promises to come back to the 'core' audience?

Nov 2nd 2010 4:32PM (Joystiq)Alright, let's think about this for a second. Is it really smart to create two different segments?
We already know that the PSPhone is using Qualcomm parts. So it isn't using MIPS anymore and moved over to ARM. So more than likely this *will not* be running old PSP games (though they could port them over).
It behooves Sony to produce the iPhone/iTouch model. You can a PSPhone which is a PSP2 with a phone and the bare PSP2 by itself. To those saying that a PSPhone that is a PSP will kill the battery are obviously not aware of how little power ARM SoC's actually take. The biggest energy draw is the screen and modem.
And to top it off, couldn't you just stop playing? Does everyone just play until the battery dies? Dismiss the battery alerts like crazy and get every last oz. of gaming in?
Sony better take on the iPhone/iTouch model or else they will create a pretty big divide.
