i love my gnome mage, i've never had as much fun playing ANY other race/class combo. i almost quit the game after playing my human priest for my first few months on and off. but then i made a gnomish mage, put him into engineering, and i've had the time of my life. i'm thinking of making another one just so i can try out fire spec and play through again.
i've ever understood why people hate gnomes so much. they are hardcore little buggers that won't back down from a fight. i love the lore the most...they didn't participate in the second war because they were trying to clean up their own backyard...and they did it on their own. thats heart, thats guts, and thats what i call having a pair the size of dalaran.
they aren't getting rid of gnomes, theya re expanding their story, so stop bitching. we're here to stay. if you don't like it, stop asking for food, water, and f'in healthstones all the time.
as someone who is trying to open their own store, this practice makes a WORLD of difference.
its not like its a book store where if someone takes somehting off the shelf you lost out on like..15 bucks. new games cost the retailer about 90% of the cover price, so you can be damn shure they'll do whatever it takes to protect their assets. the games are still "new". its not like they take used games with scratches on them and sell them as new...they just need somehtng to put up on the shelf. and no, they can't just make a cardboard cut out or whatever..that looks like crap and no one would think it was a nice place to shop.
this isn't a huge deal. it isn't any sort of deal. its just a way to protect the store so they don't lost a ton on theft. the real solution is if you are unhappy with a gutted copy, then ask for a new one. if they don't have one, don't pitch a fit - just go someplace else as if they were sold out, or take it - they should replace a game if it doesn't work right anyways.
