Is it time for Abercrombie & Fitch to close Abercrombie & Fitch?

Jun 29th 2009 11:52AM (WalletPop)
I have never shopped at A&F for the sheer point that everything they make is poorly constructed and falls apart within only a few uses. I knew countless kids throughout high school and college who wasted their money on this low-grade clothing only to end up bitching about how it didn't last. The sad thing was, they would continue to buy it because it fit some image or ideal they strove towards. I never understood it, then again I would rather get the girl by virtue of my character, instead of by preening myself in front of a mirror and getting into a pissing competition with every other guy on the planet. If you ask me A&F caters to douchebags, not to a broader demographic like teens or college kids, it is a niche store with no core values and no sense of appreciation for what customers it does have. BTW this article was clearly an editorial from the start so I don't know why anyone would expect an unbiased argument from the author. I agree 100% with the woman who wrote it and feel that eventually the wasted storefronts will be replaced with another yankee candle, or hollister, or pac sun, or just any other worthless mall stopoff that seeks to dumb the American consumer down and limit our dreams and goals to simple wants for cheap crappy merchandise, and if you're a mallrat you might as well be shopping at Walmart, the products are equally original and of the same quality.

Potent Quotables: Miley Miffed by Diss

Does anyone else even wonder why this little poptart even wants to meet radiohead? Kudos to the band for saying no to a spoiled little brat, and to people in this thread that realize shes just a damn kid and is going to say some stupid stuff.

Readers' Sad Songs: No. 1

May 9th 2007 9:24PM (Spinner)
Both the main list and this one reak. Don't give Jeff Buckley credit, cmon, he deserved at least to for the timbre and cadence that made my spine melt with "Hallelujah." Hasn't anyone ever heard of bright eyes? "Haligh, haligh, a lie" "Padriach my prince" "You will, you will, you will?" "The calendar hung itsself" "Something vague" "June on the west coast" "A song to pass the time" all horribly sad songs. Noone knows who the ass ponys are but "Azaleah" ranks pretty high in the sad factor, the wedding present with "intersate 5", Calexico, the whole blacklight album is pretty sad, but there are some really teary jems tucked in there. Not enough radiohead mentions, "Knives out" "2+2=5" "Mxyamatosis" "Street Spirit" "Exit song". You guys are really letting me down here come up with some sadder songs.

USA Today: Harmonix announces Rock Band for Xbox 360, PS3

@ karenelizabeth.

A few people have already made a really relevant point. It takes years of toughing it and lots of dedication to lear jack when it comes to guitars basses or drums, not to mention a certain amount of natural inclination, an ear thats fairly deft and a certain amount of rhythm. Whilst I cant dance any better than carlton from the fresh prince I have mastered the art of tone and rock, and by the way, a decent guitar or bass and a sweet amp cost far more than any console, as does any good drum kit. Dont forget the constant maintenance, strings picks, setups, amp service, pedals etc. This game will in the long run for all too many be cheaper and more satisfying, albeit less addictive than guitar is for the few like me.
