Apr 10th 2008 6:59PM (Joystiq)GameStop is a business before anything else they have to make money, part of making money is not losing valuable product to sell. We have cheap used controllers that people try to steal all the time, do you think they wouldn't do the same with a new game? There wouldn't be a last copy to sell you because it was stolen.
If you don't want that gutted copy then that is OK because it will get sold to someone that actually wants to play the game.
You want a game on release day? Come and get it, there are always extra copies of games but don't show up at 8:30 the night when GTA IV comes out because we only can get so many copies from the publisher and we aren't selling any preordered copies.
Pretty soon you can just preorder from your computer and have a guaranteed copy to pick up still inside the glorious shrink wrap because no store has any business opening someones game they already paid for.
And to Dizzy, seriously? Why would we go through the trouble of gutting another copy if we already had some to sell you that were still wrapped?
I understand complaints about workers sometimes, it is hard finding help that will work for peanuts but please be reasonable when it comes to certain things.
