By leaving these mounts out Blizzard is compensating for the lack of Horde mounts. Right now on the live servers the Alliance have more mounts than Horde.

Of course, I don't know much about commandlines so I guess you can't do that without this application if you want to do it that way.

I remember having read in the FAQ on their website many years ago that they would NOT add extension support. I fact, it's still there.

That bandwidth excuse is bullshit. The ammount of copies out in the wild will still equal the number of users. It's not like games come in to existence used. One guy bought the game to play online and then when another person buys the game used the previous owner stops using the online services so you'll still end up with the same ammount of users online.
