Breakfast Topic: Which game would you play?

Jul 2nd 2008 9:29AM (WoW)
I'm dropping everything for Diablo 3. I love the lore and the character classes / trees. WoW has been good to me but Diablo has always been my favorite game (D2) and franchise ever.

Also, I think Wrath will come out this winter, Starcraft in the Summer, and D3 one summer after that.

Has the splash screen mystery been solved?

Jun 29th 2008 11:08AM (WoW)
I think Theranger hit it right on the head. We left off in the cold barbarian northern lands. In the cinematic, we see two barbarians looking over what was Mt Arreat and the cold region. Now there is a cesspool of demonic hordes and a destroyed mountain. 'The destruction of the worldstone will tear this world apart.'

The only mystery I can see is whether or not the demon in the picture is Azmodan or Belial. Blizzard did mention that there are still some of the 7 Prime Evils left. It would only make sense that they would finish the story of Hell ending the civil war and joining forces to take over Sanctuary.

WWI Predictions by WoW Insider

Jun 26th 2008 10:15AM (WoW)
I don't see how they could release a Diablo 3 without Diablo (unless the pull one on us and say he's not really dead). With that said, I think you're right that the next Diablo game will be placed in the Sin War era. In fact, they could go from The Great Conflict all the way to The Binding Of The Three. They could use the Act system but do it in a Fable-type story telling (where at the end of each stage/act of the game, time will fast forward X years).

Lord Ahune's loot table

The Frostscythe of Lord Ahune is probably the most insane looking weapon in the game. Most wicked!

Buying gold is not a victimless crime

Jun 7th 2008 12:15AM (WoW)
@ Onetrueping - What if I wanted to wave the protection? I should have a right (in a sense) to wave any legal obligation towards Blizzard if my account information was stolen. If I choose to gamble with my identity, it should be my choice. Blizzard does not offer this, but I would hope they would in the future.

I agree 100% with you, Wellandus. I look at the power leveling services this way: I pay $10 for a *brand* wrench. I get a leaky sink. Now, if I am fully knowledgeable to understand how to fix that sink, I could do it. However, if I am lazy, taking care of a family, and/or working 10 hours a day/5 days a week, I could pay someone to come over, use my wrench and fix the problem for me.

I should be able, in WoW, to pay someone to use my account to power level one of my characters. Now, I do NOT use these services, but I can understand full well why someone would use them. And besides the 'it's blizzard's game and what they say goes' argument, I still haven't come across anything to give reason to not be able to power level.

Excellent points Badger. She did seem to go willingly (in the article). Just wanted to let you know that I quoted your comments in my blog post today.

WoW Moviewatch: Tallulah

I really liked the video. There is nothing too flashy but sometimes you need that; especially with slower songs. Plus, this is one of the better Sonata Arctica songs. The maker made a good choice :-).
