lol reading these comments is quite hilarious, im english and personally i dont really enjoy watching football but i think the whole concept of american football is terrible. theres lots of pros/cons to each that you could argue for eternity and you wouldnt come to a solution as its down to personal preference. yet, blindly arrogant americans still defend their country and whatever traits it has so vigourously even if it goes against what they actually feel just to be "patriotic" and end up looking like complete retards to the rest of the world and most other americans in the process. i think that you should have a long hard look at the many many problems and failures that your country has and come to accept them before you try blindly defending them and trying to insult other countries, making you look even more stupid.

back on subject, the whole reason for the england football teams shortcomings is a complete lack of competence in turning good young players (13-18) into fantastic footballers through good coaching and letting them play for top english sides instead of a bunch of foreigners, and when they get there not become famous and rich celebrities who care nothing for the game but run for 90 mins non stop. e.g. David Beckham, he could have been the best football player ever yet he got married to that fugly disgusting pencil and never got better, btw im suprised no one else has mentioned him

im pretty sure that this change in direction of box art has something to do with the UK advertising standards agency banning adverts showing the previous games boxart because it incited dangerous driving apparently. i do like the new boxart as its not as generic as a crashed car but its still not exactly amazing. im fairly certain that a black and white picture with a part coloured in isnt really that new either.

ive just been wondering, how are the achievements going to work? is there going to be 1000 GS for each game or for all of them put together or a mix accross all of the games totaling 2000 or something. like 1000 for the main half life game and 250 for each of the others?

does anyone know for certain yet?

#48 my mistake, microsoft only publishes epics games, which is kinda the same thing when releasing the new content because the publisher has the overall say on when, where, and for how much they publish epics material.

i think there must be some problems with xbox live matching making servers because it seems to be a problem accross a few games, the new map packs have nothing to do with who you can play with or not.

And the issue of the maps costing money, in a way i think it is a good thing. it is now unlikely that if you enter a game on the new maps there are going to be loads of rubbish noobs in there that just cant compete at your level and spoiling the game for the few decent players.

wether epic wanted to charge for the new maps or not is irrelevant, microsoft own epic and can do whatever they want with them, if your that tight to not spend $10 because epic didnt get their own way is pathetic.

i also agree that they need to fix the roadie running sticking to walls, its getting ridiculous. one way to combat it is to not roadie run at all, either roll or just walk (its only 20% slower after all).

guys just face it, this kid is better than you, why do you have to come up with crap about it being fake. it might be hard for your tiny little minds to comprehend but its a big world and it doesnt revolve around you, there are people better than you, even if its an 8 year old kid.

jesus christ people, gears doesnt have a party system like halo because it doesnt have a matchmaking system either. when a team of four people enters a ranked match together it completely unblances the match, firstly they will have host advantage, second they will all know each other and most likely be of reasonable quality, chances are they will all have mics aswel allowing for communication and teamwork.
Normally they will face a team of complete strangers, so often the team is filled with rubbish players who dont have a mic and dont work as a team which makes it completely unfair on anyone who is a decent player stuck with a bunch of idiots up against strong opposition. if u want to play as a team go play a player match and give people the chance to freely quit if theyre in over their heads.
