Sep 28th 2009 1:52PM (TUAW.com)Seriously, I'm sorry you had problems with your backup, but this is just an Apple blog, and sometimes they have random things they want to share for what it's worth.
I am sure there are very respectable sites around laying down the pros and cons of various backup solutions. And it is my assumption that anyone with half a brain will do some thorough research before investing in a Drobo, because it's an investment indeed.
That's what I did, I looked around a lot and it turned out the drobo did fit my needs. Some friends did too and they found something better suited for them... Well everyone's happy then. Good for us all.
Anyone solely reading TUAW for big purchases will eventually have troubles but it won't be TUAW's fault...

Well, sorry to disappoint some, but the iPhone is by far the best: OS 3 addresses most of the remaining issues people had, and the landscape keyboard is really good. There are workarounds for push gmail so I wouldnt hold that against it.
The blackberry is a decent device, its battery life is impressive but the OS feels really dated and the app selection is poor and overall quality lower than iphone (this is due to the old OS). I'd probably say an HTC hero would be the second best choice second to the iPhone. Oh, and stay away from the Nokia or WinMo, for the love of anything you believe in.
I'd just wrap up in saying it would be just as dumb to deny anything from Apple just as much as being a blind fanboy. So try one out and see for yourself.
