Swag Saturday: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (360/PS3) [update]

I'd transform into Michael Weston... That crazy bastard can get out of (or into) anything.

Apparently, this is possibly the only gun with a ricochet fire. The "manual" says you can fire at angles into walls to hit targets who think they're behind cover.

Another "suprise" from bungie.

Retail sucks, customer demands Mario on the 360

Alright, I'm just throwing this out at the people like pat o patty or anyone else who makes comments about the supposed "rudeness" of electronics clerks.

We deal with the worst of humanity. Let's just make that clear. Bin Laden, Hussein, Hitler... they're nothing compared to the outright stupidity and inbred genetics of some (read: most) customers.

Customers who get infuriated because they can't find a Wii, so they take it out on the clerk who can't fight back. Customers who vent at the employee who tells them that they're child is wrong, Halo comes out (hopefully) later this year. "Yes, I understand he saw an ad. They're allowed to make ads this far in advance, you know." Customers who's sheer ignorance is an affront to God himself.

We get a little bitter and cynical. It's going to happen.

You want to have game-dealers treating you nicely and giving you better service? Take the time as a decent human being to lay the smack down on other ***hole customers if you see them acting up.

Joyswag: A Castle Crashers tee for your thoughts

3 words.

Inexpensive Killer App.

Simple beat-em-up gameplay, awesome graphics, and simple pick up and go gameplay. This'll probably be the most downloaded title on the marketplace.

By that same logic... OBLIVION KILLED MY 360!!!

I realize it's a slow news day, but going back to the same guy who has had the same problem as a LOT of other people??? Just a shade ludicrous.

Saints Row demo joins the XBLM gang

It may not be top-notch (see the fact that it's a DEMO), but I liked it.

The over-the-top ? So what if you've got cars occasionally going 30 feet in the air? That's a moment of hillarity. At least the bodies are reactive and not like the movement-free bodies of the GTA series. Nothing says "pure awesome" like a pedestrian that flops head over heels 5 times before they touch the pavement. And the head-on crashes going through the windshield? A very nice and realistic touch. Rockstar dropped the ball on the realistic auto crashes, and these boys picked it up... After all, you can only see CJ or Tommy Vercetti bail off a motorcycle and motionlessly SLIDE on the pavement so many times.

Yeah, the framerate chugged a little at times, but it IS a demo... Not the final build, I'm guessing.

And refinedsugar must not have been paying too much attention to the variety of cars in the game... I counted 2 pickups, 2 SUVs, 2 smaller 4-door suv wannabes, 2 regular 4-door vehicles, 2 different kind of convertables (one 4-door, one 2-door), 2 very nicely done sports cars, and a pretty good assortment of small crap cars. Not to mention that the cop cars are so nicely done that it is quite hard to get repeated police attention with a specificly numbered cop car being repeated.

And speaking of the selection in cars...
The car physics are very nicely varied. You have smaller, lightweight cars that are basically your standard deathtrap- no control once you speed up, gets tossed around like a rag doll if you get hit by something big), sports cars that can slide through corners on the e-brake and burn out onto the next street, and the big sluggish SUVs that aer nearly unstoppable once they get moving.

The hand combat is most certainly better than GTA... control of right and left punches was a nice touch, as was the implementation of a "kick" button. Go see if CJ or Tommy Vercetti can kick tires down the street after "liberating" them from a vehicle in a most explody way.

Is the game going to be worth $60? Maybe, maybe not. The only radio station in the demo was a somewhat crappy hip-hop station. There is a nice custom track player (made to look like a portable Mp3 player), but what is that without a decent selection of radio stations to back it up? The customization is a wicked feature, right down to the "plastic surgery" and clothing shops. It's a good game, but as anyone can see, the masses have been spoiled by a stale GTA series. I'd probably hedge my bets on the side of this being a well-built game that gets decent reviews (of course, comparing it to the GTA series), but a "so-bad-it's-good-game" it is not. More of a "so over-the-top, it's good".

Arizona church borrows 360 branding

I'm sorry, but where do you see wrong in a non-profit organization utilizing a symbol of pop culture to help spread their message?

I'm a gamer, but I'm also very religious. I think that its an interesting way of getting to the youth.

And, by the way, it is "Thou shall not steal"... I doubt that God scorns this noble attempt at trying to bring some values into the lives of the young.
