Play-Asia, other importers cease taking EU orders for PS3

Wow. Yet another poop stain for the PS3's public relations.

DVD-playin' Wii coming in 2007?

Sorry about the double post. It grabbed my old username and I confirmed both emails.

DVD-playin' Wii coming in 2007?

Oct 30th 2006 3:02PM (Engadget)
I think this is completely uneccessary (everyone has DVD players) and it would kill Nintendo's ability to pursue an iTunes-like feature to sell digital media on their Wii channels (you know they must've at least thought about this).

Car Buyers would like return option

Sep 27th 2006 1:22PM (Autoblog)
I've never wanted to return a car, but I have learned things to keep in mind for the next time I buy a car. For example, when I bought my 96 Ford Probe (in 98), I learned that I should've sat in the back seat. I never realized how crappy the back seat room was until I had more than one passenger, and it was so bad, I pretty much treated that car like a two-seater.

VIDEO: "General Lee" Audi Quattro drift car!

Sport: an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
Yes, drifting is a sport. Get over it. I prefer racing myself, but I won't try to proclaim drifting a non-sport just because it's not my preference.

Doctor: 40% of World of Warcraft players addicted

Aug 9th 2006 2:04PM (Joystiq)
"...does a game, if abnormally addictive, warrant a warning label?"
If this isn't a joke question, then no, it doesn't. At least not as long as watching tv doesn't warrant a warning label. I haven't conducted a survey, but I'm willing to bet close to 99.99% of people who have watched tv at least once, watch it regularly, ie: are addicted. Same with Joystiq. Does Joystiq.com warrant a warning label? Hmmmm....

Ad critic: Sony's racially charged PSP ad [update 1]

Aug 7th 2006 2:24PM (Joystiq)
I think it's obvious that whether this is racial or not, is up to each viewer and varies greatly. I am simply dissappointed in Sony.
Not for creating a potentially "charged" ad, but for being desperate enough to resort to such unimaginative ad tactics. It's like when you have a comedian who's funny and curses a lot, and one who is equally funny but uses clean language. One is not funnier than the other, but the "clean" comedian has displayed greater talent and skill for not having to resort to injecting course language, which almost always makes things funnier. It's like taking the easy way out. Any company can make a controversial ad and get attention. But the great ones are instead ingenious.

Sony launches the PS3 ... website

Jun 29th 2006 4:47PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Is this the new website for the Playstation 3 or for Spider-Man 3... with that font and the "black" theme going on... is the PS3 going to come with web shooters?

Thoughts on the Nintendo Wii video

May 2nd 2006 3:09PM (Joystiq)
I like the video and I think both the name and video keep in line with Nintendo's philosophy of simple, fun gaming. It makes me curious if any of the imagery or sounds in the video are previews of what the load screen will be like.
