Shadowrun Returns: Kickstarter for a sequel from Shadowrun vets

Apr 5th 2012 2:45AM (Joystiq)
Also, for those of you who haven't clicked the video, the head dude is the dude who created Shadowrun, the actual PnP game, along other games (Battletech, MechWarrior, Crimson Skies, ect) so it seems to be in good hands. To be honest, Kickstarter is a double-edge sword, it's good for niche games but one irresponsible dev team that goes over budget could ruin the entire thing for everyone.

Mass Effect 3 player feedback spawns 'content initiatives,' details in April

Mar 21st 2012 12:52PM (Joystiq)
@sohcahtoa Except for all the other things listed, the endings are unchangeable except maybe in a DVD extra. With games, ending CAN be changed if the developers want with a simple patch. Also, there is something called "show of good grace" for example: Valve giving people an entire game for free is a show of good grace, and after this debacle that's what Bioware needs to do because many people feel outright betrayed by them after these "endings." I, for one, will not be buying this DLC should you need to pay for it.

Is it wrong of me that I've totally forgotten about Ninja Gaiden 3 due to anticipating Armored Core 5 and Kid Icarus?

Rumor: Shenmue 1 and 2 HD finished, hitting XBLA/PSN

Sega, just answer me this, if this is true, and if I buy it...Shenmue 3?

New shipment of Radiant Historia en route

Feb 11th 2012 10:50PM (Joystiq)
@FuzzyPierce Except that's not true. Atlus knows they have a niche market and thus print to a niche audience. The reason why they're doing this is to cut loses, because before they would over print their handheld games only for shops to have a mountain of them and thus lose money. The only sure way to get an Atlus handheld game now days is to pre-order or buy just as it comes out.

New shipment of Radiant Historia en route

Feb 11th 2012 10:48PM (Joystiq)
@Demo22 That's what they mean by pre-ordering it. The game is out, so Amazon can't say "pre-order now!" when the game has been out for a couple of months. So they put up the "will have stock again soon"

Mass Effect 3 isn't launching on Steam, requires Origin

Jan 16th 2012 2:56PM (Joystiq)
@Anticrawl It's not being patriotic over corporation, it's about using a really in encumbering client when there's no reason for it other than EA wanting more money.

Mass Effect 3 isn't launching on Steam, requires Origin

@Anticrawl Even if you do, you still need to launch it through Origin. And I tried to use it, but I can't.

State of the Western RPG

Jan 13th 2012 3:27PM (Joystiq)
WRPGs is one of my favorite genres, not only because it usually gives player so much control, but because diversity it has. It's the only genre I know where I can mention System Shock 2 and Torchlight in the same sentence and still be talking about the same thing.

Also: Obsidian has amazing writers, one of the greatest in the industry but they are constantly let down by their programmers(bugs), producers(Alpha Protocol in general), or publishers. I can only hope that one day they're able to pass all those hurdles to make a really spectacular RPG experience.

Monster Hunter Tri-G tops 1 million sold in Japan

@yabhero That joke just need to die, no I'm not gonna say "oh I found it funny but then-" that only perpetuates the notion that the joke is still funny, even in a sarcastic sense.
