Being that Feb 09 is an official European release date, I can see it having a Nov-Dec release date in NA (something else to help bolster their Christmas sales.) Even if Resistance 2 releases in Nov., look at how many blockbuster releases we had around the same time in Nov. this year. Plus, if you go out and buy Resistance, you're not going to pass up on Killzone 2 and vice versa. You might put one off for a little bit, but eventually you'll drop the money on the other game. Releasing the two around the same time wouldn't hurt, and would only help the momentum of the PS3 going into Christmas.

Actually Chris, I own a PS3, have never owned anything other than Playstation, and I find this news pretty cool. It must have been bitter sweet for Sony to head the negotiations with MicroSoft. This is actually great news too because the more you integrate blu-ray, the more it will start to drive the cost down. It's actually better for all of us that own Sony.

How do you figure that the PS3 is a sub-par bluray player? It is probably one of the best that they sell speaking from just a blu-ray stand point.

Another thing, how do you figure that nobody's buying these blu-ray movies when blu-ray infact won the format war? Quite a few people must have been buying this format to justify the total @ss wooping that it put on HD DVD.

I won't deny that the 360 has the larger library but it was also out a year before the other two and most of the library that it has is outdated compared to what is being released now. As far as games that people want to play today, both systems offer about the same amount of games.

Better luck next time around MS, lol. MS got pwned by Sony once again. They should have just stuck to the software side of things but maybe they'll learn from this.

Every MS fanboy can try to downplay this as much as they want but the truth is that this blu-ray win over HD-DVD is a huge blow in the console wars too. You can say that HD movies don't effect the console wars because it's about games, but with the PS3 being just $50 more than the 360, which console do you think people will buy. A lot of people were on the fence just because of this whole format war, now that it's over....well you get the point.

Sauvage, How would this game take place before R:FOM when the chimera evolved from Russia, spread to Europe, and the U.S. chose to get involved only when they felt that the Chimera posed a threat to us. At least that's what I got out of the first one, I could be wrong though.

I'm just so excited for this game, I think I'm even more excited for this than I am Killzone 2, and I think it's because I absolutely loved the first Resistance. 60 player online multiplayer is just insane, I can only imagine how technical team death matches or CTF games will get. I'm also excited to see if they bring in new vehicles, what the new enemy bosses will look like, and Insomniac is the master when it comes to creative weaponry.
