Madden 10 AFL Legacy Pack takes the field Sept. 24

Sep 10th 2009 5:42AM (Joystiq)
Bravo! For someone who thinks he knows football, these two comments alone prove otherwise. I'm a Green Bay Packers fan, so that's the main reason I "spewed" the comments I did about the AFL! The Browns along with the Packers, Giants, and Colts were the powerhouses of the NFL (the Lions in the 50's as well).

If you're going to defend the inferior league, at least make a point (yes the Jets did win Super Bowl III- congrats! LOL)! Otherwise, they were a joke, and we have the rings to show that! LOL!

To Brett:

Yes I know that the AFL stands for the American Football League. If you read my comment, I said "to make an analogy", meaning I was comparing the American Football League of 1960 to the Arena Football League of today.

To Deezul:

You're 100% correct about Rock Band DLC. We're all "sheeple", and will nickel and dime ourselves $1.99 or more at a time. However, to me, this AFL DLC should have been included (oh that's right- it is on the disc; 100k downloadable unlock) with the game. It's the very reason I no longer buy Madden Football every year (I bought Madden 2007 when I first bought my PS3 in November of 2007- I've played it once!).

"As long as we continue to spend money on it". Oops.

I knew someone would reply to my comment, and I knew they'd throw out the magical "New England Patriots". Remember that at the time the AFL was founded (1960- the league that ultimately merged with the NFL in 1970), they were the "red-headed stepchild" to the NFL. If not for the fact that the NFL took them in in 1967, none of these teams would be around today.

To make an analogy that a lot of gamers (who do not follow sports) can understand, the AFL was the Arena Football League, and the NFL was and is how we know it to be today. Therefore, I could care less about this expansion.

If you want to keep EA's pockets lined, then keep buying this garbage! They nickel and dime us to death, and they'll keep doing this as long as we consider to spend money on it.

I'd be interested in this other than the fact I could care less about the AFL. They call it the NFL (National Football League) for a reason!

Gearbox CEO wants Bungie & Infinity Ward to move beyond established brands

Jun 22nd 2009 6:47PM (Joystiq)
To use a baseball analogy, his comments are the equivalent of telling the New York Yankees to quit buying players, and develop your farm system. I'm guessing in the case of Infinity Ward, Bungie, and the Yankees, that's not happening anytime soon! LOL!

Pearl Jam returns in new 'Rock Band project' with fan-voted set list

Another confusing absence is Dissident. In fact, why not just release the entire Vs. and Vitalogy albums as DLC (just like Ten). I'd buy both immediately!

Also, I hope (pray) they include Footsteps, and I definitely agree that Yellow Ledbetter should be on this list as well.

PS2 bundle: The Wannabe Rockstar

Mar 31st 2009 10:47PM (Joystiq)
I just bought the Rock Band bundle for PS2, and it's worth every penny! What I like most about it is the fact that it works with both PS2 and PS3, meaning once the PS3 drops ($50 in June and another $50 around Christmas is my guess), you can just buy Rock Band 2 for PS3 and you're set!

Games for Windows update to address piracy, DLC

Mar 25th 2009 3:06AM (Joystiq)
At least Braid for PC will not have these new built in copyright protections in place. Then again if they do, I'll still be able to download a pirated version that circumvents it. Companies like Microsoft deserve to have their software pirated due to how greedy they are!

I was thinking "N-Stink" myself. When did Justin Timberlake become synonymous with Sushi and Sapporo?
