3200 MS points for $20 at Circuit City [Update]

Jul 29th 2007 7:58PM (Joystiq)
Ef CC. I went to my local store, they didn't even carry the 1600 point card. Only the 4000 point card for $50. I went to buy the cards online, and it's an in-store-only deal.

Guess what, the CC site says my local store has them in stock. So I call and talk to someone, asking if there is anything they can do. Nope.

F*ckers.

Xbox Live makes box office bombs profitable

Jan 2nd 2007 9:02PM (Joystiq)
I bought Superman in HD last Saturday night - the 30th. I have a 7 Mb DSL connection that routinely provides me with > 800K downloads. I knew the service would be busy...

It took 36 HOURS to download! WTF? To top it off, it won't even play because of a "license issue."

I called Xbox Live support, asking for a refund, and they told me to go f*ck myself.

Get it right MS. Why the f*ck are you not using BitTorrent to distribute these movies!!!!????

E-bay and Sony removing PS3 auctions -- ethics vs. legality [update 1]

Oct 12th 2006 4:35PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Mmmm. I love cotton candy.

To all the whining 7th graders in this comment thread, guess what? I showed up at Gamestop 30 minutes before it opened, and I got one. In fact, I was not even going to buy one until a friend called me and said it might be worth checking the line at the local Gamestop.

You know what? I could care less about the PS3. I don't want one. But I know other people do. And you know what happens when there is demand for something? People step forward and supply it. And the suppliers usually make money in the process - if they are smart.

Kids, that's how our economy works. You'll probably learn that in 9th grade, so you might have to trust me for now.

You can have my PS3, just look for it on eBay in a few weeks. I think I'll no-reserve it and see what the market says it's worth.

Too soon.

I probably won't see this movie. The memories are still fresh in my mind, and I don't really need a reminder.

However, a movie about flight 93 was going to be made at some point (there's already been at least one TV mini-series), and I think the director has approached the subject with tact. He has support from family members of those who were on flight 93, and I think he will do a good job portraying what happened that day.

There were movies about WWII during WWII, movies about Vietnam during Vietnam, and now we have movies about the current war - and yes I think we are at war. I take it seriously. And I don't need to see this movie to remind me of it. But maybe others do, and I think this movie will do a good job of portraying what actually happened that day.

McAfee Virex now compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger

Aug 29th 2005 10:55AM (TUAW.com)
Virex has given me nothing but trouble. My mother-in-law insisted on installing it on her iMac G5 after I repeatedly told her there was no need for it. She is the most paranoid computer user I know of, and she is convinced that the first virus released for the Mac this decade will find her. No sooner had she installed Virex than iChatAV stopped working. The video would start out fine, but drop to 1 FPS after only a few seconds, making the connection useless. Long story short - I spent 3 hours on message boards and Google looking for the problem. The culprit? Virex still had a process running that interfered with iChatAV. And this was after I had “uninstalled” Virex and restarted!

CTRL - Mouse click I love you....

You can also use the scroll wheel on a mouse - if you have a mouse that allows you to press down on the wheel and click it. I find this to be quicker than CTRL-Click.
