Nexuiz brings the twitch back to FPS on XBLA
Jan 15th 2012 8:11PM (Joystiq)Xonotic split from Nexuiz after this XBLA game was announced, many of the Nexuiz developers thought developing a closed-source XBLA game in secret was an abuse of their trust and a misguided continuation of the game they had worked on for years.
Worth checking out, has a lot of interesting changes and unifies Nexuiz's strange art style.

Play Bastion in your Chrome browser right now
Dec 9th 2011 9:12AM (Joystiq)Honestly I don't get how this is "Corporate Chrome shit". Chrome is written by the original Firefox team, it's open source (BSD licensed) and Native Client is open source and an open spec that Mozilla could freely implement if they wanted.

Jan 18th 2011 7:21AM (Joystiq)Secondly, you're playing blame the messenger here. If Geohot didn't exist, the problem wouldn't magically vanish. He didn't create anything, only discovered. This was horrible design on the part of Sony.
I'm a little interested in homebrew, not with piracy, certainly not with cheating. But I agree with Geohot because this is how the security industry works, and harming academic speech into modern security systems because "OH NOES THEYSE CHEETIN IN MY MW2" is incredibly angering and upsetting.
PS3 hack court case delayed, jurisdiction questioned
Jan 17th 2011 8:15PM (Joystiq)Putting one dude in jail for saying "Hey look guys, this is broken." is an intensely stupid idea. Not only against freedom of speech - its of incredible academic interest - but it does nothing. Someone else would have broken it, its not as if geohot made the flaws happen, they were in the system the whole time.
