Sony: Survey not a guarantee of Blu-ray release of PS2 God of War games

Apr 19th 2009 1:28PM (Joystiq)
I would rather them create a re-release of the two games but in HD. There is nothing worse than playing old games on a HD-TV when you are used to HD-gaming. I would rather wait another year for a HD God of War I and II on a same bluray disk.

Reminder: The new PSN Store, PS3 firmware 2.30 both live

I tried it late lastnight and it never worked properly for me. I could never get an image to appear in any part of the store. Once it starts working properly, I can tell it was a very nice upgrade to the old store, looks great!

PSN Store down today for 'scheduled maintenance'

Apr 14th 2008 1:38PM (Joystiq)
Does anyone know (from logging onto your ps3) if the down time has affected online gaming or just the store? I was hoping to get a little Warhawk action in this evening.

Thanks

The battery life is just about the same, maybe a little better. I have had a dual shock since January, thank you Play-Asia.com.

Maybe they finally found the problem to their RROD? It just takes twice as long to produce a 360 now....lol!

I hope the game will have some form of rain and fog effects. I think it would be cool to watch the mud wash off your vehicle during a race.

Microsoft drops the ball again. How can you have a system without a hard drive?

I am really interested in the Dual Shock 3 controller. Is there any word on the release of them yet? I would even take a ballpark about them.

PS Fanboy Week in Review: 1/21 - 1/27

I would like to see this game take a page from COD 4. Interms of rewarding you for kills in a row. Imagine if you got a 10/15/20 kill streak and you are rewarded with an alien space that would approach and destroy people (ex: Independence Day Green Lazer). I would love to see some achievements like this online for the kill streaks because they could get very creative.

Metareview - Burnout Paradise (PS3, Xbox 360)

I was so disappointed with the demo that I almost cancelled my reservation for the game. I am so glad that I did not do it. It is one of the best racers that I have experienced. Yes, the map is huge and will take time to learn which will make the game last for months on end (we will learn the city). The demo sucked because there were only three events and you HAD to drive back to it. In the actual game, there is almost an event at every street light. You can literally end a race and start one up within seconds. However, the major fault to the game is the lack of crash mode(fingers are crossed for a download).

Best feature is the online play. If you have the game, go online and create a race. The possibilities are endless. As the host, you pick where the race starts and ends in the city. You can literally influence the style and difficulty of the race by which points you choose. I hosted a “race” game which turned into a road rage event by accident. I picked one point in the mountains and the finish line where the demo was located. I forced only two major options for the player to go which made the race very accessible to everyone. It made for an extremely close race. If you want a more difficult race, place the starting point in the Northeast corner and the finish line the Southwest corner. It will force you to know the whole middle portion of the city which is very hectic. I was pleasantly surprised how the host can determine the difficulty of the race by this simple process.

For those who don’t own the game, there is loading online for a race event. The host chooses when to start the race and all racers are taking to the starting point. It would have been a huge let down if everyone would have needed to drive there.
