Civilization Revolution has no alibi (it's ugly)

Wow, looks like a cartoony higher-resolution version of Civilization 1... especially the terrain tiles

OH. GOOD. LORD. I AM TOWARDS THE BEGINNING OF THE LAST CASE. I ALMOST SCREAMED PROFANITY. I AM SOOOOO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE.

WRUP: Trials and Tribulations edition

HOLD IT!

No spoilers for anybody please...

Started playing it two days ago and I just stepped into the courtroom for the first time in the third case late last night.

Anyway, just like the reviews say, it's still much of the same good stuff you can expect and you're used to from the PW series. There are surprising moments, whacky characters, great dialogues, and those annoying points where you can't seem to figure out what the answer to a puzzle is because the answer is a little vague.

How the sarcasm is lost on some of these people, I don't know...

DS Daily: We would like to taste the rainbow

Jun 24th 2007 10:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think the issue behind this is that Japan and Korea's "video game cultures" are a lot more social than Western ones. I guess they don't see a big purpose in bringing more colors to Western countries, when in Japan and Korea, having a certain color would be somewhat of a fashion statement.

DS Daily: On sequels

Jun 13th 2007 10:07AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The bottom line in deciding as to whether to pursue a new IP (intellectual property) or following up with a sequel is... *surprise*... MONEY!

A lot of video games and movies nowadays do not make enough money to even cover costs, so companies take a risk when they decide to start up a new IP. Therefore a lot of sequels are made, or a lot of games are made to follow trends (I think it's safe to say that WORLD WAR II has been a big trend in the past few years) to reduce this 'risk' (by benefit of having an existing fanbase in addition to the possibility of adding new fans). Yeah it sucks but it's the truth...

There's not a lack of creativity out there, but perhaps just a lack of talent and good management. You can also blame the people for buying what they want or what they think they want (such as "Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing", which happened to sell more than some good games) because they're the ones dangling the money. People always say that want to try something new, but many times they don't!

DS Daily: Dr. Kawashima or BLUUUUUUUUUUUUE?

LMAO, so true. Every time I said, that I wanted to freaking throw my DS at Dr. Kawashima... or wait...

Bulky battery pack brings 40 hours of fun

Jun 4th 2007 8:46PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
There's other battery packs available out there. One I've seen comes with semi-hand grips to even help those with big hands. It'd be hard to explain how it looks like. But I think the picture you showed has the longest battery life of the ones I've seen (which is 3 or 4 different ones)

Nintendo featured in Fortune, employees worth millions each

That's under the assumption that the guys on top are making as much as the guys on the bottom, but yeah either way that is quite a good amount
