I have it on Steam for the PC but haven't played it yet, got swamped with new games...and now I see this. Looks like I might have wasted my money on the PC version.
Here's a question for you: Can a book or movie still be good even if the writing sucks? The answer is...it depends entirely on how discriminating you are, as an audience. Personally, I like the story, dialogue and voice acting in my video games to be good enough that I don't think about it (ie: how bad it is). In that case, the FF game in question fails my test.
@Nook Yes, you can go download tabs and use audio programs to slow down MP3's to learn songs and bring them up to speed...but it's not as fun. Not remotely. The Megadeth tracks are probably best suited to experienced guitarists, but the "simplified" versions that beginners will be playing at least allow them to learn the basics in a fun way, with music they enjoy.
I have played guitar off and on since I was 10 years old, which is 31 years...and I don't think I have ever played it as consistently as I have since getting Rocksmith. The game has rekindled my enjoyment of playing.
Here is the basic problem...and I say this as someone who works in marketing, within the cable television industry. They don't know what the hell they are doing. The "telcos" like Verizon and AT&T entering this business with IPTV don't have a clue about broadcasting and instead of entering the business with a new and more progressive business model...they did exactly the same thing their coaxial competitors have been doing, forever. Then you get "features" like these XBox Live updates, which are virtually useless but somehow serve as a bullet point. AT&T has been offering to let you use your XBox 360 as a set top box for a long time, but almost nobody does it. Why? Because they want to charge you over $100 to do it, more than a year of cable box rental. Why on earth would I do that? When I got U-Verse, I asked the installer about it and he said he has never, in all the years he's been doing it, done an XBox installation. So how useful is that "feature," really? Answer? It's not. Just like this Verizon app is not.
So far, the only potentially useful "TV" app I've heard about is the potential for HBO GO on the 360, so I can have access to the entire library of HBO shows, which I can't get with On Demand.
But yeah, for the most part this all feels like Microsoft throwing darts at a board and seeing what sticks, because they don't have a clue what they're doing with this TV thing.
