Polyphony working on Gran Turismo 6

Sounds like your car is just too overpowered for the spec. They give you a list of what typical opponents power points are. Just make your car around theirs and if it's still too easy for you go below. GT5 makes a lot of options very configurable for the user, but it does rely on the user's self control. If you pick a car that's 200hp more than everyone else, you're gonna have an easy time winning.

I guess if you consider customization work then that's true, but the alternative is appealing to the lowest common denominator and licensing music that's just popular. So if you want a racing game full of Britney Spears and Limp Bizkit then be my guest, but I sure hope they leave me the option of deleting all that.

You can add any music you want to gt5. I liked some of the stock music, and some I didn't, but it was all too easy to throw my own mp3's in there so that's something they really got right. As for more exciting menus, I sure hope not. If anything I want the menus less exciting. More linear, more boring, faster loading. Not ridiculous menu layouts designed for a computer mouse that have to contact PSN in between every menu item.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North review: Middle-earth revisited

Nov 2nd 2011 5:13PM (Joystiq)
I think this is the first joystiq review I've seen that's higher than a 3. I got this game yesterday and played a bit of it single player. The review doesn't mention what a hassle it is having to constantly repair weapons/armor (hell even my pants degraded, and not because I soiled them) but it's not a straight brawler so I don't mind some rpg elements. I agree with the review that this game will really shine playing local co-op, which is why I got it.

Uncharted 3 was 'the hardest thing any of us have ever done,' says Hennig

If I had known the release date was today back when I preordered War in the North months ago I would have chosen differently. Now I need to go home and quickly slaughter a ton of orcs so I can pick up Uncharted asap.

Gran Turismo 5 DLC delayed to October 25

Oct 18th 2011 12:54PM (Joystiq)
@skbkoy65 Now, I hate when companies withhold levels and things from a game at release and make it available as DLC soon afterwards, but it's been almost a year since GT5 came out. Are you saying they should have waited to release the game for a whole year so that we could get two extra tracks included on the disc? I'm still pissed they didn't have it done a year earlier because we should all be playing GT6 by this Winter.

I love playing this game co-op. I'll be getting this the moment I get home from work.

Battlefield 3 single-player tease ends with a bang

I can't wait to actually play BF3 so I can see what it looks like without all the fake CRT monitor interference transitions every few seconds.

Dead Nation welcomes you back with 'Road of Devastation' DLC

@gordogg24p Well they do include an easier setting if you need one. I finished a playthrough on Morbid and thought that was a nice setting for a solo play. Co-op all depends on who you're with. Some people tend to forget they have all sorts of weapons they can throw to destroy a ton of zombies at once.

@Trilancer You can adjust brightness in the settings, although I would prefer shooting zombies in the daylight.

I can't think of another game I got so many hours of play from for $0. The closest I've come is Just Cause 2 and Borderlands on Steam for $7. Co-op isa lot of fun and I'll be getting this DLC for sure.
