A generous demo deal could work. Say it costs $5 for the Crysis demo and the full game costs $100 the buyers of the demo could have $5 deducted from the price of the full game.

This is one of those games that you should look past the reviews and buy. It is the sort of ambitious game made for adults that exists as wishful thinking in most discussions about exclusive Wii games. It is not a fun game in the sense that you enjoy fighting ghosts (it is more like dread, as it should be in a horror title) but it sucks you into the narrative with its dense atmosphere and mysterious characters. Deep Silver Vienna may be gone but whatever the creators of Cursed Mountain do next will be worth a close look.

I think Michael Patcher has a point because for now, the iPad does not have the exclusive games library to compel gamers to upgrade from their iPod Touch or iPhone. Once the library of iPad games has matured, in a year or so, then he would have to reconsider his opinion.

Personally I think the iPad is a cheaper way to get the HD games experience than a console with a big flatscreen; when you hold the iPad close to your face, it covers a bigger field of vision than most televisions/screens from the couch.

I also look forward to seeing what the Apple A4 chip can do graphically and what other products it will be used in. Apple TV maybe?

The name Icarus comes from Greek mythology so it is ridiculous that Nintendo or anyone else would claim it as their own. It looks like Nintendo strong-armed Over-The-Top-Games to change the name but if the developer wanted to they could have declined to do so. The Greek myths are part of Greek heritage and no company should claim any of them as their property.

I'm for it. Better to have this as an option than to get stuck and give up on a game. Beats getting off the couch to check a guide.

It sounds like the finished game will be compromised due to these restructuring issues of Gearbox Software. Still, for fans of Aliens any game would be a good thing. Personally I want to see two Aliens games: one, a co-op first person shooter in the style of Left For Dead and two, an on-rail lightgun game in the style of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

I thought it was funny, like a parody of dialogue in Quentin Tarantino movies.

Have the game's sales figures been disappointing?

Yes! This is great news.

I had Code Veronica on the Dreamcast and it always froze at the end of disc one; I think it was after entering a train. I would buy it again even if it is a straight port but I would prefer something more ambitious, like a brand new game in the RE4 style.
