Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. calls out iPad as a job-killer

Survival of the fittest, anyone? C'mon! This is what makes Capitalism great; this is what makes us progress, as we should be doing. He shouldn't be mad at Apple; his real argument is with people who buy their products. Even then, however, you can see how asinine it would be to argue with consumers who are the ones who vote for products with the money in their pockets. That's nobody's business to legislate! You can't make people buy physical books over digital books; and to push any such agenda is ignorant, arrogant, and stupid.

You have to admit, this is a good concept -- while granted, it certainly is not for everybody. I may consider downloading it on my Xbox, as I can find a good application for it.

Isn't that the truth! You can't spend yourself into prosperity; if that's your method, you're just going to dig that hole deeper.

I buy my games from a video game store called The Game Trader, and has been my gaming store of choice since they opened a small shop about 10 years ago.

Gay kissing is slightly worse than severed heads, welcome to America

It's funny that whenever something like this comes up, the first reaction is "blame the Christians." As a student of Christian Theology, I don't read about sex being a bad thing; in fact, we believe that it was God's idea and standard from the start (*gasp*) and not just for procreation, but for PLEASURE. Now, that does not automatically mean for Christians that pornography is ok, but great sex is definitely permitted, encouraged, smiled upon , and talked about in the Bible. Don't believe me? Take a little glance at the Song of Solomon; it vividly describes fondling of breasts, oral sex, and so on. "Oh, but didn't you know? Those Christians are SO against sex!" So you're telling me that it's a sin to reproduce? That's a load of garbage, and it would logically kill any religion fairly quickly. Why? All the believers would eventually die out. Duh!

Now, I don't expect anybody that doesn't believe as I do to understand the holiness and glory in marriage; and why this makes sexual activity outside the boundaries of it wrong. I personally like the idea of knowing and being loyal to a single person; not that I expect anybody else to do as I do -- as I realize that my faith calls for me to live by a higher standard. If that is not your cup of tea, that's not my business. I can't make you believe against your will, and quite frankly, that's not my job. If it were, I'd probably be a Muslim. Honestly, I would be offended by a male and female consenting to sex (and me watching it) and as I would be offended by watching two men or two women kissing. Why? Neither one of these help me meet that higher standard. For a man that believes that sex should be confined to marriage, and is a relationship between a man and a woman, that rules out sex outside of that relationship and homosexual activity.

I don't seek to condemn homosexuals; and actually, I'm no better than they are. I don't look at myself as having a "one-up" on anybody; Heaven knows, I'm absolutely saturated by sin. That's right; God's judgment on me would be the same as it is for you, for me, and for the homosexual. Even the smallest sin is enough to condemn. Here's why: Imagine, if you will, a God that created the universe who's standard is flawless perfection. He absolutely hates imperfection, and it goes against who He is and what He does.

He says that sin is in your very nature; that you're naturally sinful. He has but one way to live up to His standard, and nothing else will ever be good enough. Well, based on that conclusion, we're all condemned. Therefore, the only way to be justified before Him is not by anything that you do, but by the way that He provided. So... I've got nothin' on the homosexual. My ransom has been paid in full; and that's the difference. That doesn't mean I'm a better person than you or anybody else; and homosexuals are people like you and I. Nothing more, nothing less.

True Christianity is not about living up to God's perfect standard, and it's not about religion and ritual. Church itself is not a building, but a state of being. Let me just say it: It's a relationship. It's a relationship of the only one who could pay the ransom: God in the flesh. Jesus Christ.

I don't mean to preach, nor do I intend to convert or offend; but perhaps this will help some of the ignorant understand what Christianity is about. Quite frankly, I expect to be called names and mocked for my faith, values, and beliefs. Please, if you feel inclined, have a hayday. However, before anybody does any bashing, at least get your damn facts straight.

In Christ,

Vasahond

It's not my job to convince you. It was never my job to convince you. I frankly don't care what you think or believe; and I don't think this is a competition. Honestly; think what you'd like. Insult me and my beliefs; I don't care.

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
(Galatians 6:7)

Your argument is not with me; as far as I'm concerned, it lays with God. I don't hate you, and I don't hold what you say against you. But if (and I know this is a really BIG stretch for you) God is real, the implications of your view are dangerous, and frankly... I hope you're not wrong; but I know otherwise.

Boy, this sure turned into an anti-Christian thread fast. Though I'm a Christian, I would actually be scared to see the opposite of what I'm seeing here. Contrary to popular belief, Christians are told that they'll be hated and rejected, according to the words of Jesus Christ.

Not that I'd buy that game or anything; I'm just sayin'.

Wow. All I can really say is that this reminds me of that "Lunix" article that was written years ago, where this guy was saying that "Lunix" is a communist operating system and all kinds of other crazy crap. Obviously, this guy has no idea what he's talking about. And as a Christian as well as a conservative, I don't know if I'd call him either. "Insane" is actually a better word to describe it.

Oh, and don't be hatin'. Insulting me for my beliefs isn't going to make me change my mind. :)

Amen, Crono! I don't know who "harrison_shaerr" is, but comments like his are unnecessary, untrue, disgusting, and detestable. Of course, judging from his post, he can't be older than 14. Children should be banned from the internets.
