Microbial fuel cell insights bring practical poo power closer to reality

Jan 6th 2008 12:40AM (Engadget)
mmm... currently all presidential candidates are talking about the energy crisis... the one that mentions this one wins my vote! this is better than wind, sun, and others... unless we evolved into assless creatures which can take years this energy source will be available.

Xbox 360 Arcade unboxed

Oct 15th 2007 1:29AM (Engadget)
I'm going to get one of these.
I currently own 2 Xbox 360. I have a premium I purchased when it first came out. No long ago I purchased an Elite. I have the premium attached to a Panasonic HD TV (sadly it does not support 1080P... only 1080i and 720p..) the elite I have it on nice Samsung SyncMaster 226bw monitor using VGA... blame my wife... and stupid American Idol for me having more than 1 xbox 360. Anyone married with kids know that sometimes they own your living room... After purchasing the elite I have the 20GB hard drive from the premium collecting dust. One of the biggest benefit of the xbox 360 is the ability to remove the hard drive between consoles... think of your xbox 360 hard drive as a big memory card.. you only need one.. eve if you own multiple consoles... Sometimes I have friends over... that own their xbox 360... and they bring their own hard drive... which comes with wherever saves and profiles.. I think the Arcade sku is great for those that already own an xbox 360 and would like to buy another one.. no need for the hard drive... a 2nd hard drive becomes an anoyance...
I'm going to replace my existing Premium with this SKU.. comes with HDMI.. and a memory card.. which I don't have... I already own all those Arcade games.. so.. not don't care... also have for wireless controllers... sucks.. I wish they would sell only the box... and the basic cables.. but this will do...

Sorry, the Wii isn't crap

Mar 9th 2007 1:09PM (Joystiq)
This guy forgot the most important rule of the game industry. Developers can't give their true personal opinion of systems that they may be developing for. We hear all the time about how Companies and their PR threat and punish websites/blogs from publishing information that regarless of being true or not they don't want the public to know. If developers say something about one of these companies I guarantee you their games will not pass certification and will probably never see the light.
This is why when you hear possitive things said by a developers it's usually bull $h!t, they are just kissing @$$. But when you hear 3rd party developers saying things like this. You may want to look closely since they have a lot to lose and yet are willing to say it.

Poll results: Wii, PS3, 360 playing habits

Mar 9th 2007 12:58PM (Joystiq)
Ok, now that you undermined the results and gave various reason why the 360 got better results, can you explain why you wasted everyone's time by making on vote on something that means $h!t?

Games for Windows editors not sold on Vista yet

Feb 1st 2007 10:43AM (Joystiq)
LOL. This is funny. Ohh wow. It's interesting how so many of you were critisizing microsoft because they were late releasing vista. So many of you were critisizing XP, now XP is the best OS as long as people don't use vista? Let's be honest, the only reason why most of you talking $h!t it's not because vista is a bad OS but because the company behind it is Microsoft. Plain and Simple; no need to try to sound like you have good reasons. If Vista would be another version of linux or new MAC OS than you would all be praising it.
It's funny how so many articles of people like "Jeff Green, Ryan Scott, Darren Gladstone, Shawn Elliot" telling people that vista it's not worth upgrading to because "I'm afraid it's going to break my machine." @#$$% you are telling me that this guy can't afford a PC? And does he mean by "break"? Hardware? How about reformat drive and re-install linux or xp?
Some of you should get yourselves checked out. this hate for an entity or corporation it's not normal. It's ok to not buy products you don't like, but what's with this crusade that some of you have to destroy microsoft (the evil empire)? Most of you(Notice I said some) use linux because you learned how to change your ram, format and install an OS and you believe using Linux makes you cool. Others like MAC because it's from apple and apple makes ipod and apple it's cool, considering the fact that it's over rated and it lack features like built-in FM features that pretty much every mp3 player has. Both OS (Linux & OSX) can't run 90% of the software in the market, and 95% of the games I wouldn't call that cool. You hate vista because it made by microsoft then good for you. but some of us buy computers to work and to play games, so until OSX or linux allow me to do that at the same level that windows does most of you will not have a choice but to use it.

GRAW 2 delayed for PS3, demo soon for Xbox 360

Finally they added the "Remember Me" feature, I hope they don't expect people to confirm via email, because that's the main reason many of us don't bother commenting.

Japanese release day highlights: 12.07.06

Dec 7th 2006 10:51AM (Joystiq)
@Torched, "Wow... Three disks for Blue Dragon. I thought DL DVD's were enough for this generation.". It is. Eventhough 95% of the games will never need more than 1 disk, this proves that if one disk is not enough the game can be released in 2 or even 3 saving you $200 in the process. People didn't have a problem having up to 4 disk for the PS (Final Fantasy & Metal Gear) why would they have a problem with the 360, considering the fact that it takes less time and eford to do that than to get a bear in the kitchen. Besides if you don't mind playing the wii (which require more energy) you shouldn't have a problem changing one disk ever 15-20 hours of game play. Stop making a big deal out of something that's not. This does not afect the games. If you want a PS3 because it comes with a blu-ray then do so, no one will stop you.

Xbox 360 price cut vs. cost reduction

Nov 27th 2006 6:35PM (Joystiq)
For those complaining about their 360 dying here is what you should do. Call microsoft ask them to fix it.
Ofcourse unless your console is stolen or you voided your warranty trying to mod it.
2 months ago I send mine for repairs and I had to pay for it. If recall correcly it was $140.00. This last saturday I go a check from the mother *&^@#*$ Microsoft saying that my xbox 360 qualified for a free repair and with a nice big fat check! So, I didn't pay nada for my repair. After that I called and renew the ensurance for 2 years. I feel bad for you bi****s but you have a better chance of getting your console fix for free from microsoft than from Sony or Nintendo.
My 2 cents.

Games from an Islamic perspective

Sep 12th 2006 3:45PM (Joystiq)
"Yes, because Timothy McVeigh was obviously Arabic and/or a Muslim." How can you compare 1 person to nations? You will always find 1 person that wants to do harm. But when a nation (Iran) supported by it's people and their religious groups (which happen to be Islamic) call for the destruction of innocent people "to wiped from the earth" it becomes a bit difficult to not have a negative eye against Muslims. Why out of all major religions (more than 8,000) it has to be Islam? Why you don't hear in the news that groups of suicide people from a sect (even the satanic one) rap a bomb and kill woman and children during burial. Heck they don’t even have a problem killing their own people from the same religion.
