Here's Phoenix Wright in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 [update: so many more trailers!]

Oct 13th 2011 3:45PM (Joystiq)
@Kougeru Does sound kinda weak. That "TAKE THIS!" had no oomph to it.

VVVVVV coming to 3DS in late 2011

@(Unverified) The song in the soundtrack just has a sustained "Vee," but that sustainment may be from being the ending lyric.

VVVVVV coming to 3DS in late 2011

YES.

Nes games and and a golf game? NOT WORTHY ENOUGH. This? THIS is a worthy 3DSWare. Looking forward to "bwoo"ing over and overandoveran-- in an extra dimension.

PSN Tuesday: Rochard, Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD

Oct 1st 2011 1:15PM (Joystiq)
@Roto13 The DS version of Chrono Trigger is pretty much a dream, Lost Sanctum(?) aside. Maybe the pitch of the music, too, but IIRC it was worked on my Mitsuda himself for the system. So at least there was care.

FFVI's a bit tougher, since I'd default to the ADVANCE versions, but those no longer play on modern systems (being weeded out as of the DSi), and there are a few sacrifices to be had (music, the opening scene, a scene with Celes), but its optimizations and new features outweigh them overall. (Keep in mind, I'm mostly commenting as a proxy.) However, given the 20th Anniversary editions of FFs I & II and the FFIV Complete Collection, it may just be better to hold out for a PSP/PSV release along those lines.

PlayStation Home gets 1.55 update this Thursday in advance of relaunch

Sep 29th 2011 4:44AM (Joystiq)
@spin cycle Why would Home ever allow for dissonance between versions? Besides, better loading is worth any seconds-long inconvenience of downloading whatever part of the patch addresses the wardrobe/furniture (for me, I just hope we can now view their names/information from that browser). Heck, apparently the patch d/l'd without me noticing, and I haven't turned the PS3 off between when it went down for maintenance and when the patch installed...while Home was still under maintenance.

Penny Arcade Adventures Episode 3 still alive, Zeboyd at the helm

Aug 27th 2011 2:48PM (Joystiq)
Been following Zeboyd (even got in on the CSTW PC Kickstarter), but this, THIS I could have never expected.

And what am I looking forward to most? Completion.

Boyd, make us proud, and tie off one of the many, too many, loose threads of canceled sequels.

New €99 PSP model loses WiFI, debuts this Fall in Europe [update: more details]

This basically requires MediaGo or a PS3.

...Yeah, prolly not a problem. And as said, this sucker handles UMDs, which is about all the Vita won't cover.

PSA: 'Nintendo 3DS Ambassador' (free games) program ends at midnight Eastern

Aug 12th 2011 9:27AM (Joystiq)
@Wizardsofwaverly Same here, and the only game on sale there that interested me was Rayman. Any "yea"s for it?

Nomura considering 'HD technical test' for Kingdom Hearts anniversary

Aug 10th 2011 1:46PM (Joystiq)
If it's the "first two", it better be expanded to include "the third PS2 game, which was bundled in the remake/director's cut of the second game". I want some high-def card-based "sword"-swinging goin' down.

Not sure how they'd get the first game down, in either of its post-initial incarnations, what with the series never retouching Deep Jungle, for undoubtedly legally-binding reasons.
