The Fight: Lights Out promises 60fps fighting on the Move

Apr 17th 2010 6:35PM (Joystiq)
Tried this out at a preview event. Looks to be a standalone title: fight club, with the standard sports game/rpg elements: train your fighter, learn new moves, etc. What I saw had 3 different punches (which could be used with either hand) and 5-6 special moves, including a headlock (at which point you could beat on your opponent with your other hand). There definitely was not full body tracking, just tracking of the two Move controllers.
60 fps doesn't matter much if the gameplay is laggy, and in this case it was terrible. There were very pretty punches being thrown a full second after they had been inputted. Another problem was the difficulty in actually seeing your opponent, as the camera is typically placed behind your avatar, and he makes a much better door than window.

There would be an enormously forceful effect if I was lucky enough to receive this, though the force would of course have to be divided by acceleration.

Why don't they embrace the inevitable and release a dust colored one.

It's single player only and short, and all that "freedom of choice" ultimately devolves into endless rounds of inject-electrify-repeat, so kiss the re-playability goodbye. Plus it's a talky mofo. Enough already, let me drown.

My favorite element of the game is sifting through the audio debris from a failed and rotting dream society.

I've seen Billy's mom. She most definitely IS a gun.

RPG devs adapt or die, here comes the MMORPG

I think he's right. At this point, when I'm playing a single player game, I long to see the effects of my actions on the World. Most rpgs' plots aren't worth jack. My motivation when playing tends to be much more about how I can modify/improve my character and what kind of changes can I implement in the world around me.

But then when the man who lead the creation of Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, Fallout and Fallout 2 speaks, I listen.
