Jul 27th 2007 4:12PM (TUAW.com)This is real. If it was fake as so many retarded people seem to be saying, then why oh why is there so many very detailed pictures that are all very consistent. I heard someone say this would be easy to mock up Photoshop. I have been using Photoshop for a good few years professionally and this level of realism would be extremely hard to achieve in Photoshop. You would have to use Maya or some 3D based program to achieve all these consistent pictures before even thinking of using Photoshop. It would just be easier to photograph a mock up.
Let's just say it's a mock up. It's a very convincing mock-up if that is the case, because the level of finish and style is very Apple. These are moulded plastic keys that carry the same typeface as all modern Apple keyboards, but it's also using the same anodised Aluminium used on the current Cinema Displays. Some would argue that the keys could have been ripped off a MacBook. Yes some of them could, but what about about the keys we have here that aren't on a MacBook like the the big fat "0" key!
The design fits perfectly with the rumoured design of the new iMac. The use of USB cable is to power and give you the traditional 2 USB ports on the left and right of the keyboard. The reason for no Apple logo on the command key, is so there is less confusion over what the key is. It also gives more room to put the word "command" on the key. This helps new users and anyone who is teaching or helping someone to operate the computer. The reason why the Eject button and volume keys have been moved is so that they mirror the layout of the MacBook keyboard. For example the eject key is in line above the return key.
The only problem that any person with brains will work out is the Apple Dev Team sticker. The logo is very sketchy. But that is really the only questionable aspect.
The keyboard looks very classy. But that there goes right over some people's heads. Some people just don't appreciate good quality design.
Is this the new iMac keyboard?

Jul 20th 2007 10:59PM (TUAW.com)I heard Jonny Ives was working on the iThink. It uses your brain waves to control it. It's thinner than paper and formed from an ultra strong carbon-spider-web casing. Very un-shabby. Very hush hush. Don't tell anyone I told you.
