Hear GHIII's final track: "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"

Oct 20th 2007 4:40PM (Joystiq Xbox)
"ahhh, gh3 is going to have nothing but junk emo songs..."

Indeed, those well known emo artists ZZ Top, the Rolling Stones, Pat Benatar, Iron Maiden, the Beastie Boys and their ilk are certainly over-represented.

Silly person.

African women's blog upset over Resident Evil 5

Aug 1st 2007 1:40PM (Joystiq)
The funny thing is, most gamers - especially those who are long time fans of Resident Evil - saw the trailer and thought, "Cool, a radically different locale!". How many games in the past 10 years have been set primarily in Africa? I bet that was the first thing the designers thought about. Where can we put the character that hasn't been done yet?

But of course, the non-gaming morality police seized on the only thing they noticed, without any thought for context - white man, black zombies. ZOMG.

In video: Clive Barker's Jericho

Jul 19th 2007 11:33PM (Joystiq)
I doubt the game will stay that dark, and you'll be able to adjust the gamma.

I'm looking forward to seeing the game in more depth - cutscenes and things like that. I hope there's more than just mindless shooting too. I loved FEAR's use of "quiet" spots to ratchet up the tension.

Looks sweet.

Bully: Scholarship Edition coming to Xbox 360 and Wii

Great! I was sad when they scrapped the Xbox version, so I'll definitely be snapping this one up for the 360.

Joystiq impressions: Clive Barker's Jericho

Heh, what is it with Clive Barker games getting no love? Undying was shafted by its marketing people as well.

Bomberman Live & Yie Ar Kung Fu XBLA double header

Yie Ar Kung Fu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Activision sticking to GH II DLC pricing

Jul 15th 2007 3:54AM (Joystiq Xbox)
I feel that the pricing is more than it should be (why didn't they bundle songs together in bigger packs and sell them for less overall?), but as someone who's already beaten all the songs on GH2 and doesn't own a PS2 to play the original, I want more songs.

A mass campaign to get the pricing changed through not buying the song packs is retarded when there is demand for more Guitar Hero content. That's like complaining about the extortionate price of 360 games in general ($59.99 is a shitload of cash for a game no matter which way you spin it) and telling everyone not to buy any games until the price comes down. In theory, that would work, but how many people want to buy a console and sit there with no games until people power forces the cost down?

They didn't listen. New GH II tracks still 500 points

Jul 11th 2007 6:20PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Just the one track pack? Gosh darn, that's irritating.

But I wanted those songs so badly! So I will be a-downloading tonight, even though the price is more than I think is fair.

First video of Gears of War on PC

Jul 11th 2007 1:52AM (Joystiq)
God, stop the fracking crying! It gets old so fast. You KNOW that console games (especially hit Xbox games) make it to PC after a while. You KNOW the PC will have superior graphics due to the ever-evolving nature of the hardware. You KNOW that user-created content is likely because of the Windows environment (hello Morrowind and Oblivion).

You know all this and you STILL pout like spoiled little shites. Get a fracking grip. You (and I, I own a 360 too) had Gears of Wars ages before the PC gamers. Why do you care so much about exclusivity? Stop being jealous crybabies and let the other kids play on the monkey bars too.
