I am wondering why no one asked whether this will have a smaller cell chip than the 40gb version. If this system has the new 45nm cell chip, then I'm sold. If not, then I'll get the 40gb version soon (for the 65nm chip). The importance? Smaller chips run cooler and not as loud. That is important to me.
I got this computer in 2002, and it had a sweet 60GB hard drive and 2.0ghz of processing power--yet it now runs Starcraft just like my old Compaq Presario 233mhz Pentium II back in 1998.
My PC runs so slow I get terrible lag playing online. I don't know if it's the plague of spyware and viruses, or the fact that I don't know how to install my X800 Radeon graphics card correctly--because it sounds more like a dryer machine than a video card.
For a few months, I couldn't even get Starcraft to play on battle.net on my rig. Battle.net wouldn't allow it--not joking. World of Warcraft detected the problem as a win32 agent (trojan), then told me the wrong way to fix it. :(
I used to work at a Funcoland (another name for Gamestop [exact same company]) and a few other gamestop locations when I was in high school back in 2002 (I was 17 years old at the time, before they had a rule for 18+ only). We did this practice all the time. In fact, it was considered a normal thing and no one every complained until now. I can see why its a shady deal, because they should have seperate display boxes, not the ones they are going to sell you.
