I see the big bads of WotLK, BC, SC, and the diablo series, as well as murlocs, which are clearly a force of infinite evil. The role of the gnome, therefore, is either a counterbalance of equally powerful good which alone can stand against all five, or a hint that the end boss of the next WoW expansion will be the entire collective gnome race.
A note on breaking down walls: It is always better to break down the west or south inner walls than the east. Since defending players who respawn will have to arrive in the eastern section of the fort this makes it much harder for them to build a catapult and bring it into the inner courtyard. I've found the best overall strategy is to group up everyone and attack through the center gates until (or if) the defending force gets organized, at which point you should switch focus to destroying their workshops. I've yet to lose an assault where the defenders have had no vehicles.
As a mage in heroics I'm happy where the calss is pve-wise(I love the frost changes), but I still feel that something is missing in pvp. I'm asuming that mages are intended to only attack from a distance considering that almost every defensive mage move (blink, nova, blast wave, slow) is designed to get us away from danger or to get danger to get bored and walk away (ice block). Only dragon's breath allows us to remain close to a target and still attack it. Mirror Image is obviously designed to allow a mage to remain close to an enemy and still be able to use spells with a cast time, but any soe from any class kills the images instantly, so it doesn't do that great of a job.
Really I'd like to be able to do something in pvp other than spamming ice lance while my CDs are up.
I'm not so sure if I'd call the Ebon Hold "good". Thassarian has stated that they're only joining the alliance/horde for as long as it takes to kill the Lich King, and after that they're all packing up and doing their own thing. Also the unholy trainer will occasionally summon in a cenarian circle scout and kill her just to show off a skill to her students.
I recently specced deep fire FFB after having been pure frost since starting the game over a year ago, and it really is a fun build. 3.0.2 did improve the monotomy of frostbolt slinging, but all the toys fire gets (living bomb, dragon's breath, and blast wave) combined with rediculous hot streak crits I'm certainly enjoying myself. My BG survivability has gone to hell, but dragon's breath + blast wave with five stacks of tenacity in wintergrasp almost makes up for it.
I have no idea when this happened or the particulars of it, but that's what the dragons say as explination for why the forsaken aren't smited in the presence of Ysera or upon entering the Emerald Dream, like scourge are.
Death Knights, based on the literature strewn around the Ebon Keep, are undead. They're just able to keep their good looks because they're stronger than level 1 forsaken, and because Blizzard's artists didn't want to put in the work. And just like Sylvanas redeemed the forsaken and restored their connection to the light, all deathknights were redeemed by Tirion at the end of their quest chain.
