Metareview: Samba de Amigo

Sep 25th 2008 11:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Kogen,

The "calibration" option only appears (or, unlocks) once you've completed the easy and normal sections of career mode ... and unfortunately, even after repeated calibrations does NOT help the accuracy of either a combination of 2 Wiimotes or a Wiimote and nunchuck.

If you've noticed, multiple review outlets have faulted this game for its poor control functionality ... and I have to agree, I was a Dreamcast Samba master (perfects on every song on all difficulty settings) and while it's possible for the basic to advanced user to get perfect scores on the easy or medium settings of the Wii version of the game ... once you get to the hard or super-hard settings it becomes painfully obvious that the controls can't handle the speed that it expects you to perform "cross overs" and multi-shake combos.

The short-short is that the control is somewhere between masochistic and completely broken.

Sexy shots of Xbox 360 Rock Band USB hub

When I saw this, I immediately changed my reservation to the PS3 version. Not to mention - I only have the 20 Gig 360 HD. Wireless guitar, no USB hub + more HD space for song downloads. It just made more sense.

Issues playing Dragon's Lair on Blu-ray?

Apr 29th 2007 2:45AM (Joystiq Playstation)
I just got the Dragon’s Lair Blu Ray, and while the overall quality of the gameplay and video / audio mastering is outstanding, the problem I’ve encountered with in in a PS3 (updated with the current firmware as of April 29th 07) is that there is NO way to get the limited lives feature to work. Once you get down to ONE life, it switches over to the UNLIMITED lives gameplay and no matter how much you die, you never see the crumbling skeleton of Dirk and the “Game Over” screen.

Anybody else have this issue with the Dragons Lair Blu Ray and a PS3??? Email me! Lupin003@aol.com

(I’ve emailed Digital Leisure, and they responded that they’ve alerted development to this issue.)
