Same here. I watched this video and it made me think of that game. I couldn't remember, I thought it was called Freelancer. Definitely needs a sequel.

i would say it's more closely related to KOTOR in style. it's a western style RPG, kind of like an off-line guild wars almost. you have a skill/magic bar at the bottom that you can execute skills from (or hot keys) and you attack with those or just your main weapons "attack" button (usually on the mouse). and you pause at any time with space bar to queue up you or your parties next action.

this was referenced in the weekly update last friday. basically the boot system is more similar to Halo2 in that you get strikes against you for any friendly-fire damage, not just friendly-fire kills.

i believe they're either tweaking this and/or educating the players more on how it works.
