Nintendo's Perrin Kaplan talks Smash Bros. Brawl delay

spring this year was the worst time to solely own a Wii, with SSBB being in February, it'll be different next year. (Though I would have still been playing SSBB during spring even if it came out in November, so it would have made no difference to me)

Smash Bros Brawl's Pictochat level boggles the mind, but could be better

Oct 22nd 2007 9:49AM (Joystiq)
no the practical item would be a DS. A fifth or multiple others could use their DSs to draw on pictochat while the 4 players are fighting. And if the DS owner doesnt draw anything at all for more than a sec, the CPU jumps in and adds drawings for a base.

Though the process sounds complex

Nintendo's Kaplan says 'Gamers were bored before Wii'

Oct 15th 2007 3:52PM (Joystiq)
I'll defend Ninty because I see where they are coming from. They are indicating that many games were getting repetitive and generic, while only a few would stand out. Ex: Halo, Half Life, God of War, Zelda, etc. are some of the few AAA titles out there. Majority of games are boring. We avoid them because we browse websites that tell us what's good and what's bad, but for the gamers who do not (hardcore or not, a person who plays games is still a gamer) were paying to play the same game under different names (all the GTA rip offs and generic war games for example).

Anyway, that's what I think she meant by saying games were boring then... it proves true for the casual gamers at least. I guess Wii somewhat changed that, but it wont be long until the mini-games get repetitive and boring themselves.

He's mentioning the obvious. The system for the biggest game of the month is bound to sell the highest amount of copies. Look at PSP in Japan, two games came out and launched it on top for weeks but now DS has already taken back the top place

He was just trying to find a false good reason why he might sign up blacks in his team. He could have he would turn to other countries, but instead he specifically outed the one continent which stereotypically has the most endurance.

Ot: Anyone checked out the SSBB gameplay vids at IGN yet? That game is going to be awesome.

It looks almost identical to SSBM though (both good n bad, but its hard to judge so far)
