The NCAA Got It Right: Masoli Should Be Ineligible at Ole Miss

Sep 1st 2010 8:45PM (Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog)
This is a bad decision, unless the NCAA is adopting a policy that states that any NCAA football player that has two run-ins with the law are immediately banned one year, and apply it to all schools across the country. I have not seen any evidence of them doing this yet.

Let's Hope OT Doesn't Ruin Super Game

Feb 5th 2010 10:39PM (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)
I think we should just get rid of the clock in football. It's too unfair. We should let both teams declare they are winners, so no one gets their

Or, if a team drives the length of the football field and scores a go-ahead winning touchdown after the 2-minute warning occurs in the second half, we should give the other team an untimed chance to redeem themselves. I mean, it's not their fault the defense was not able to stop the other team from scoring.

The Manning Legacy: Greatest QB of All?

Feb 3rd 2010 12:08AM (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)
Elway was great. Certainly worth considering as a top 5 QB. Manning is proving himself to be the best pure QB to ever play the game.

Senior Bowl Black-and-White for QBs

Jan 29th 2010 10:29PM (Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone)
This is an easy question to answer -- Tebow did what he did in the SEC, and the other kid did not. Tebow's going to be given the benefit of the doubt because of that. If he does poorly at combines, no NFL team is going to stick their neck out for him at QB (unless he's still available in round 6-7).

If he does well at combines, someone will probably look at him and think "well, he did what he did in the SEC. We can always convert him to tight end if it doesn't work out."

No Forgiving Blount Until He Tells All

Dec 31st 2009 9:37AM (Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti)
I believe Mr. Mariotti is confusing college with professional sports. "To be blunt, what we have here is the pure and simple reality that America can't forgive Blount until we see his face, weigh his words and determine his sincerity."

WHAT?!?

Blount doesn't owe "America" any apology. What happened? A kid finished playing a 60 minute game that requires a lot of emotion in addition to physicality, after it was over another player from the other team said something that ticked him off, and he punched him.

I'm not sure why you find this such a hard concept to grasp, Mariotti. If you need someone to harp on, go find someone that seeks out the limelight of the press, and wait for them to make a mistake.

BioWare envisions console-specific Dragon Age

Aug 5th 2008 8:04PM (Joystiq)
If there the inventory system shows any signs of "planning ahead" I am going to be disappointed. The inventory system in Mass Effect, despite their efforts, stinks. It should be a dramatic improvement over Baldur's Gate and NWN, and then they can do whatever they need to to get it to work on the consoles later on.

Star Wars unleashes Wii-specific features?

Jan 29th 2008 8:23AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I do not expect great things from five extra levels. That tells me: "Hey! When the graphics are from 2002, we have time to build five extra levels!"

Wii Warm Up: Downloaded

May 4th 2007 1:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Nothing. I have contemplated buying Super Mario for the NES, but I can not justifying paying the prices they charge for something I may or may not get tired of playing in a week (or less) and have already purchased previously.

I'm ready for some new downloadable content. Something fresh to show off the features of the Wii. Either that or a downloadable version of the new Sam and Max adventure.

Wii Warm Up: Let's talk graphics

May 3rd 2007 1:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
If the Wii is basically double the Gamecube (give or take a little), I would expect no less than at least XBox (original, not 360) level graphics. If I get that plus the Wii control scheme, I'll be happy.

I would also say that it takes a while for games to really start taking advantage of a system, but that's not exactly true. One of the best looking games on the Gamecube was Rogue Squadron, and it was a release title.
