Jaffe swears off blogging ... was it something we said?

May 2nd 2007 5:56PM (Joystiq)
Xl7 thats how hypocrisy works, accept what you like and delete what you don't.

I fail to see what Joystiq has done for the gaming community that Jaffe can not match and beat easily.
The only thing childish or "whiney little girl" is the very essence of using a professional blog to criticize what someone does on his personal blog. His blog is used to air out his opinions, yours is used to make a profit.

Also Grant your attempts at humour, please, leave it to ludwig next time, or at least get him to ghostwrite it before you publish, it will be doing me a personal favour.

Rumor: New Dead or Alive will be PS3 exclusive

Indeed DoA is horrible, for 3d fighter its VF5 or nothing else. 2d fighters, street fighter still the champ (tho I do personally rate King of fighters above it) for weapon combat its souls calibur and for party/fun its Super smash bros (though I feel a Powerstone sequel could give it a good run for its money)

Jaffe un-promises, Calling All Cars delayed

Zsaviour I agree completely with you on this post.

Joystiq Hands-on: Devil May Cry 4 (PS3)

Wow, brutal but honest. In fact its reasons like this I never liked the series in the begining, I much prefer ninja gaiden and God of war. Lets hope they can bring some real sense of "accomplishment" to the game in time.

Sheepy its good to read someone who actually seems to do some reading and basic comprehension on this site.

People who are arguing Zsaviour viewpoint have not done one thing: actually read the damn blog entry. If you did read it, then you would not be complaining about what really is a harmless rant about how someone reviewed his game. He did not link it to sites or send it out as some sort of anti game spot campaign. He put it on his blog.

Its not a big deal until all the anti-jaffe fans came out the woodwork to put this down on their "why i hate jaffe for no good reason list", just let it go. IT REALLY WAS NOTHING.

And whats worse is most of the complaining is coming from Nintendo fans.

You know, the same ones that say game reviewers don't know how to review wii games and so its better not to read their opinions at all, teh same ones who had 40 plus pages complaining about how gamespot gave Twilight princess 0.3 points then they expected, these same ones now saying that to question the opinions of a gaming site on your own blog is pathetic. Its reasons like that I think so many nintendo fans are pathetic. I really do not know how a company like Nintendo ended up with a fanbase like this.

I say its fair for gamespot to review the game and give whatever score they did and its fair for jaffe to give his opinion on their review and etc. In the end its only an opinion.

Its quite shocking though that the first few posters don't think the reviewer can or should be held accountable for their review by the game maker. In the end jaffe just points out he disagrees, he does not bash them over it, i think thats quite legitimate, he created somethings and hes proud of it and does not want it to unfairly criticized, seems like a good developer to me. If you give reviewers free pass and never question them they will take advantage, such as with 1up and the neverwinter score untill they called out for it, but it seems some people don't care about that and feel the reviewers opinion does not have to be questioned...

And lol at all the Jaffe haters, yeah I know, God of war 2 got better ratings than Twilight princess, maybe thats why you Nintendo fans are outraged every time this man speaks well suck it up. Just because the man's more successful at his job then you are at life, does not mean he does not have a right to an opinion.

In the end he has made two very successful franchises, and at least 4 very very good games it just shows how pathetic you Nintendo fanboys are hating on the man, even sony/xbox fans will show this type of attitude in nintendo developer posts such as miyamoto.

SNES controller the grandaddy of them all?

ITS THAT SIMPLE.

Guns may kill, but video games close second

Apr 29th 2007 4:15PM (Joystiq)
I am going to say this...

IN the UK we are very similar to US

We have poor public schools
We have people who have mental health problems
We have people that play video games
We have dysfunctional families/schools/ whatever
We have quite frankly, murderers

The ONLY thing that we don't have is a lax gun control system. In fact its very hard to legally own a gun, if at all.

And you know what? we have never had mass murders in schools/colleges.

Fact is, or should i say common sense is, that GUNS play a VITAL part in MURDERS. And the more Americans try to deny the problem is guns the more i laugh and the rest of the world laughs.

If you had an axe (like so many people keep referring too for some reason) how long would it take to actually kill 30 people? you think he would have even gotten close enough to 5 people? Do you think that so many people would have been scared and allowed him to get them all to line up and then axe them one by one, like what he did with the use of a gun? Do you think he would have been fast enough to get so many people before the police figured out what happened?

In every part of the world we have murders, don't get me wrong, but were guns are harder to get, gun crime is lower, and so is mass murdered. That is common sense.
This man was able to take advantage of the very poor system that the US have in gun control.

The more you deny it, the more you allow the problem to continue. Having a gun should not be a right but in the US it is. And thats what makes mass murders much easier in the country then elsewhere.

Face it.

Report: Kojima feels Smash Bros. Brawl "very complete"

Apr 27th 2007 12:38PM (Joystiq)
"Super smash bros is overated, its the most basic fighting games ever created, all you do is repetitive one button combos, I have played better party fighting games (will not insert name of them here___) and this game just pales in comparison too Powerstone"

Just to get the ball rolling :D

Does it use the wiimote or not is what I would really like to know.

Also its very nice to see another developer praising someone else's product though they do have some affiliation. I know Kojima is not the first, but I respect him for it none the less.
