Just has this reply to my further question from Apple sales:

I am getting conflicting reports now from our Technical team Applecare.

The guy i have just spoken to has been looking into this exact issue all day because it is not clear in anything that Apple has published.

"The answer is now..... The only way to carry out the Target Display mode with the PC´s is if the PC´s have Thunderbolt ports. Which, i know, they do not

So as of today the iMacs will not do what you need but that is not to say that once we / intel start releasing adapters to support Thunderbolt this problem cant be resolved

My apologies for the lack of clarity Mike but hopefully an adapter will be released shortly"

I know, it's one of those situations where someone has obviously missed the point, and I'm now not even certain my original question was properly understood. Just goes to show you should never copy and paste an email when you've only skimmed it. :-)

I've emailed back with a more explicitly worded request, I'll paste what I get back.

I've just realised his email makes no sense, as it seems to relate to connecting the iMac to external monitors!

I was taking to someone at Apple sales yesterday, who admitted himself that there is a lot of confusion about this issue. He said he would contact someone in technical today to get a definitive answer, I just received this email from him:

"Yep, the new iMac 27inch does support Target Display Mode. 

This is previously is done via the Thunderbolt ports which act the same way as the Mini Display ports and can connect to 2 PC monitors with VGA or HDMI ports

If you have any more questions or wish to place an order just email me your contact number and let me know a convenient time for me to call you back"

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I listened to this podcast just this afternoon. It was Steve that said that EA would def. be developing C&C for the 360 after the interview, NOT the guy from EA. All the news sites are reporting this as if it's been confirmed by EA.

The question is, will you be able to transfer Xbox saves you have on your hard drive from your Max Drive onto your Xbox 360 using this device? Nowhere seems to make mention of this, either whether you can or can't.

I wonder if you'll be able to us this in some way to transfer original Xbox saves to your 360?
