Kelvin, your theory on the N.Rev failing bcoz it wont appeal to casual gamers is great and all, but i think your missing one major point.
Nintendo isnt aiming to appeal to the casual gamer, they want to NON-GAMERS of the world, of which far out number casual gamers. Sure they'll make their attempts to capture casual gamers, but so far most of the talk has been capturing non-gamers with games of mass appeal, just as has been seen on the DS with Nintendogs and in Japan with brain training.
If Nintendo can tap into the non-gaming consumers and get them interested in what they have to offer, then Nintendo have cracked a huge market and could be set to grab the larger market share of the 3 consoles.
Of course its all theory, no-one can really know whats going to happen. The proof is in the pudding and in a few years from now we'll finally get to see the way the next gen console race is shaping up :)
What Sony, Microsoft must do to win in North America
