Vista will not support Blu-ray or HD DVD playback out-of-the-box or on most PCs

Aug 24th 2006 12:45PM (Engadget)
I'm sitting out HD-DVD anyway, except for new titles. I will not buy stuff I aleady have again- because HD-DVD will be gone much quicker than DVD, when digital delivery finally becomes standard, and then they'll charge you again.

Mario's dirty mouth

"E3 2005 is not news." You're right, and this is not a news site. It's a DS Fanboy site- and I wouldn't have seen this video without the post. Thanks, guys.

Sirius video service coming this year, sez Karmazin

Aug 3rd 2006 12:47PM (Engadget)
These companies are poor. This is dumb. No one wants half-@ssed video from a radio provider. Good luck making content deals. What a waste of time- we don't all have screens in our cars, and we don't all want them. We don't all have kids. We don't all care. We subscribed to satellite radio for music, or talk radio. What are you going to be able to provide to me, a single commuter, that's useful? And yes, I do think probably more single people have XM than families. But I think lots of those families already have screens in the cars, and DVD players (will the video come on a new device with a screen, or hook up to any existing screen, or what?)- and like someone mentioned above- Direct and Dish will OWN this market when the time comes, they're already there- they have all the content sown up and they're in your home already- I don't even know why XM/SIRI even want to pretend this is a practical business model.

Wild speculation: iPhone to launch in August?

Apple uses 3D modeling digital photography for their promo shots. We're learning this in school right now, it's really tech heavy. The guy would be tech savvy. BS.

New Super Mario now stomping across Europe

Jul 1st 2006 2:13AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
It's the best DS game, except that i have all the coins, but have yet to unlock the stupid 2 extra worlds with mini Mario- it's nearly impossible to find those stupid small mushrooms.

Venom Gets Classic Look?

Jun 15th 2006 8:15PM (Cinematical)
Actually the info is accurate, having just listened to the show off audible- though THC doesn't read comics and definitely unsurely said *Venom* would look like the comics- he didn't seem like he knew what that was- it certainly was an assumption.

Professors banning in-class laptop use

May 3rd 2006 11:55AM (Engadget)
There's nothing worse, in the entire world, than sitting next to the only guy in class clattering away on a keyboard the entire class- just the sound drives me f-ing NUTS. I can't pay attention when I hear keyboard sounds. You're not special, and you don't need to bring your laptop to class, nerds- no one is impressed. And sometimes, it seems like that's what they're trying to do. If you must bring your laptop to class, please, please sit in the back and keep clattering to a minimum.
